I do believe the Russians are trying to influence our election, they've been doing it since the start of the cold war and we'd be fools to believe they stopped when the Berlin wall fell. But you'd also have to be a fool to think we (our CIA) doesn't interfere in other country's elections, too.
Here's the thing though, just because Russia is trying to interfere, does not mean Trump (or Republicans, et all) have any hand in it, or even that the Russians are trying to swing the election in Trump's favor.
Realistically though, it would make sense they would want Trump to win. Not necessarily because Trump is pro-Russia or would strengthen Russia at our expense, but rather because Biden would just be an overall disaster for the whole world.
What I'm saying is, Russia would rather have someone as our President that might be tough on them and someone they can't control as a puppet (Trump) vs. some bumbling idiot with dementia that might accidentally lob some nukes at them (Biden).
