Only job I ever quit and on my last day I wrote a “fuck you idiots” email to the people I worked with on my last day. It was as gratifying as it was hilarious. Then I used their money to buy a house on the water in Florida and moved 1300 miles away. One of my most proud achievements.

Most academic types are brought up in the system- 4 years of undergrad, 5-7 years of grad school, 3-6ish years of postdoctoral work, then assistant professor, and so on.
