Actually benefit humanity? Are you insane, man? There's no profit in that!
Permanent base on the moon, molten salt thorium reactors, desert reclamation, there are so many things that would make a real difference. And all the supposedly classified patents that have been filed. What is everyone missing out on, there?
With respect, I have to disagree with the title of this post. I honestly don't think that the collider had anything to do with the Mandela effect. No idea what might've caused it. though.
I concur. Physicists who spent their entire career invested in CERN are disappointed their experiment didn't work, so now the suggestion is to hit it with more power and maybe they'll suddenly get it to work. This is tinkering at this point, not planned experimental science. The math model doesn't reflect reality; time to move on, find a new model and design a new experiment.
The first time the Collider was started was back in 2008.
The term "Mandela Effect" was coined back in 2009.
I think we are in a different timeline not intended for us, but we took the spot of those who were in sync with us. They, unfortunately, are probably experiencing a Hillary Clinton presidency right now.
I was talking to a neighbor and he mentioned someone in his family had vhs tapes stored in a metal locker, and they hadn't changed. Faraday cage effect maybe?
And, if it's a different timeline, how are there people who remember and also people who agree the wolf will lay down with sheep, or whatever? "Oh but the timelines were merged," but at that point you're arguing about the number of angels on a pinhead, I think.
Whatever it was, I think it's so highly classified that no-one's ever going to know.
Something surely happened. Everything we knew as to be "normal" is no longer normal. So I do truly believe the timeline was somehow switched without us really noticing it.
I got into an interesting conversation with my brother. He actually met his doppelganger once when he was staying at a hotel. People kept coming up to him asking him how he was doing and what he's been up too, but the problem is, they were calling him by a different name. So when my brother went to the elevator to head back to his room, he saw his doppelganger. He told me the guy looked exactly like him and was even wearing the same type of outfit he had.
I laughed and said it was the rift in the timeline he saw and for that moment he was actually looking at himself in the alternate universe.
Blew his mind because he said it happened back in 2010 after I had told him shit got weird after 2008 when the collider was started for the first time.

Funny how you mention the Mandela effect.
