The people who came up with "critical race theory" are basically "unconscious".

It's as if their brains are stuck in a death loop and need to be rebooted.

minotaurbeach 90 points ago +91 / -1

it is the bastard child of critical gender theory.

What use to be women that knew their physical limits, but wanted to mostly do dispatch and what they could when it is everybody 'hands -on -deck' in a fire station, became crossdressing men, claiming to be the most oppressed women of all- wanting the right to sue people he doesn't know for sole custody of their child - if he suspects their 4 year-old child is transgender.

tombombadil 47 points ago +47 / -0

Ive been looking into the history of it and I believe the original was critical legal theory. It all stems from that commie idea.

I think all of this comes from thinking that reality is subjective. Once you decouple your mind from objective reality, all nonsense, insanity, inversion, and debauchery is on the table because, well, why not?

Nihilism, nonsense, dishonesty, and fake scholarship.

See the Sokal Affair: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sokal_affair

Good quote from Sokal:

The results of my little experiment demonstrate, at the very least, that some fashionable sectors of the American academic Left have been getting intellectually lazy. The editors of Social Text liked my article because they liked its conclusion: that "the content and methodology of postmodern science provide powerful intellectual support for the progressive political project". They apparently felt no need to analyze the quality of the evidence, the cogency of the arguments, or even the relevance of the arguments to the purported conclusion.

It’s fake nihilism. They are communists. They couldn’t destroy capitalism fair and square, so they created postmodernism to destroy everything.

Really? I thought it derived from John Money, who created the theory - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Money

7
Prometheus76 7 points ago +7 / -0

No, one of the original researchers and later, developers of the implicit bias test is Brian Nosek. Here he is in a podcast talking about how it's now being misused:

https://scottbarrykaufman.com/podcast/implicit-bias-and-open-science-with-brian-nosek/

He has also spoken many times about the "replicability crisis" in research (especially in psychology) and founded an organization called the Center for Open Science.

Here's a recent paper he published (not alone, there are other co-authors of this paper) where they did a systematic analysis of implicit bias training studies and found that it has no effect. https://www.gwern.net/docs/psychology/2019-forscher.pdf

Thank you! Yes the "replicability crisis" in research (especially in psychology) is a HUGE problem with science that gets ignored.

It all is a twisted updated form of Marxism that undermines the equality in our Constitution.

11
operator1214 11 points ago +11 / -0

The socialists realized, at the very end of the 19th century/beginning of the 20th, that a more shall we say lucrative and easier way to insinuate their ideas into societies was to tack them on to ideas of racial and gender equality. In order to understand how this could be so you have to consider the times -- and that they are still using the same arguments today. They tacked on their twisted ideology to the better angels of our nature...and thus trapped us all: you can't talk about race or gender relations without getting mired down in their muck. You can talk about social ills without it. You can't talk about conservation without it. But they never cared about any of it -- it was all simply a means to an end, concealment for their true designs, and a way to ensnare. Socialism is of the devil, and should be treated as such.

Good point. Thanks for bringing that up. I admit I hadn’t heard of critical legal theory, but after reading about it as well it appears it is the baseline or at least common thread of which ties together crt and other such absurdities. And surprise surprise, it’s biggest influence starting with the new deal and working its way through civil rights and all the messes we have today. I could be wrong. But I see most of our troublesome political narratives starting near the 20s with Wilson and 30s with FDR around the time of FDRs long arm of government reach programs. history of critical legal theory

"Critical race theory" is really just "Criticize whites theory".

I'd also call it "Animal Farm theory". Person of color good. Non-person of color bad. That's the entire theory summed up

15
operator1214 15 points ago +15 / -0

It at all possible, it's worse than that. More like "brown/black little brothers incapable of doing anything for themselves because of evil white man, so need big daddy government to do everything for them because of evil white man" -- it makes all whites evil, all non-whites incompetent by nature (and thus incapable of improving their lot), and all state control necessary and the best of all possible worlds, of course.

In fact, they are marxist insurgents who are working to replace our Republic with a global, totalitarian state. While I agree that the low level people may be brainwashed, those at the top know exactly what they are doing which is working to turn the hearts and minds of Americans against their country and countrymen.

-10
tombombadil -10 points ago +15 / -25

No that’s stupid. Same goes for being proud of being black or any color. You didn’t do anything to be that color. If you take pride in doing nothing then you are setting yourself up to be an extremely lazy individual.

32
sometimescanbefunny 32 points ago +33 / -1

Disagree- I take great pride in all of the accomplishments of my race. That’s like saying you can’t be proud to be an American because you didn’t control where you were born. I am proud to be a straight, white male. Proud to be Christian, proud to be American and dang proud of America, and so on.

5
tombombadil 5 points ago +7 / -2

I chose to be Christian, I’m proud of that. I choose every day to live in the US, I’m proud of that. I don’t choose to be white every day though.

That's fine m8 if you want somewhere where hating whites won't get pushback you have the entire rest of the internet to signal on

2
operator1214 2 points ago +2 / -0

I don't think he's saying he won't pushback against hating whites, just that you should be proud of accomplishing things and your choices in life, not the color of your skin or any other thing you are born into this world with.

For instance: I'm proud of what I've done (that's good! I have plenty of things to not be so proud of as well!); I'm for the most part happy with the choices I've made...but they have little to do with my pigmentation or ethnic background (I mean, I wish being able to invent like Da Vinci was part and parcel...but regrettably it is not; I'm on my own there). My racial/ethnic composition I'm ok with, and if other people aren't, well they can bugger off -- I like being me...and me is on the pale end of the spectrum...but I'm more than just that.

14
tabbytomo 14 points ago +15 / -1

Disagree, I can be proud of being white, part of the white race, part of a larger group than myself without falling to laziness. If anything the accomplishments of ancestors drives me to better myself and leave an imprint on the world the way they did.

11
GoldenEagle1776 11 points ago +13 / -2

Every other race is takes pride in what they've done as a whole. Asians, Arabs, Blacks, Indians (dot) they all do so why shouldn't we? Take pride in what our ancestors have done and look forward as we stand on the shoulders of giants.

-4
tombombadil -4 points ago +5 / -9

Yeah they do and it’s fucking stupid. I think less of them for taking pride in something that they had no say in. I take pride in what my ancestors have done, but you’re retarded if you think every white person in human history is your ancestor.

6
GoldenEagle1776 6 points ago +7 / -1

No need to be so aggressive. I'm simply stating that it's not "fucking stupid" as you've described. Also, no crap not every white person is my ancestor, still doesn't change what they've accomplished.

3
HumblePig 3 points ago +3 / -0

Don't know why you're getting so downvoted.

I agree you're right we shouldn't take great personal pride, nor shame; Slavery wasn't our fault, and we didn't defeat Britain for our independence. If my friend is promoted, it's not my success, but I feel proud that someone whose values and traits I hold in esteem have succeeded with those. If he were to steal or cheat, I would feel ashamed because I value him and find his actions to debase him. This shame would lead me to try and change him, and presumably my sense of shame in him would further drive him to betterment if he likewise values me. I am an 'other' and can help ground him when his reasoning lead him to do something bad.

It's like that, a slightly different kind of pride or shame; I am ashamed of slavery in that it was a horrible violation of liberty and it propagated. I am not personally responsible, but feels bad, man. I didn't fight in the Civil War against it, but I'm proud that values I inherited and hold in esteem were carried out to successfully end slavery.

You choose to believe your religion; you can take pride in acts past heroes in your faith have been driven to by that same faith, from battle glory to works of art. I'm an atheist, but I have to say, religion, in particular Christianity has inspired the most amazing music and art pieces I've ever seen. If someone feels a similar spark, some pride is natural even if one can't produce anything as amazing. It's a connection. It's what creates a culture of our choices.

The type of pride others speak of is based on a sense of 'self' and 'other' which in certain spheres of life extends beyond the self---in more collectivist cultures, the 'inner' sphere expands beyond the self more frequently. In America, it's usually more strictly 'you', but we do still have a certain sense of belonging, identity, and division--it's why the wall matters. It's why the left is so eager to make sure minority groups identify as that minority rather than Americans---see yourself as the victim and Americans (which you are also) as 'them' rather than 'you'--see yourself as your race, we can divide you more easily.

In summary, the pride people are speaking of in their race is not as strong as pride in your own choices and actions, but an understandable feeling that comes with being a social animal. Your view on what calls for more pride is correct, but the other pride is natural and appropriate.

3
Spirit_of_Resistance 3 points ago +5 / -2

I take pride in what my ancestors have done

By your own logic that's fucking stupid though because you had no say or part in it.

Are you a leftist? You can't maintain a line of logic so I'm thinking so

The reason white people have the most advance societies is because of individualism. You are talking about the negative effects of white guilt, which I agree are a problem. No one should feel guilty about something that they have literally no control over, just like no one should feel prideful about something they have no control over.

6
deleted 6 points ago +6 / -0
2
operator1214 2 points ago +2 / -0

Well, one of the greatest game tricks the socialists have played on the world is to get people talking in terms of group collective. So, from another stance: the best way to win is to not even play that game (or allow it to be played upon you).

And, from the "let's play that game" standpoint: the spirit of individualism is what drove Western civilization (aka. white people) to the heights it accomplished (which I say with all humility are soaring heights). I refuse to give up that birthright!

3
deleted 3 points ago +3 / -0

operator1214 1 point ago +1 / -0

No, I just don't believe I should go around going "whew, yeah! I'm awesome because Verdi was awesome!". It's not like I'm automatically the possessor of great musical skills just because some of my ancestors hailed from the same piece of soil. Same with Theodore Roosevelt or the moon landing astronauts -- they're American, but I didn't do any of those great things.

Am I proud of Verdi, Teddy, and the astronauts? Of course -- who wouldn't be? I can be proud of the country and/or civilization that produced them; I can be happy/grateful that I belong to the same. I can logically reason out that some elements were there in both country and civilization that produced such greatness and say these are worth defending. I cannot boast of my own importance because I was lucky enough to be born into something. I can only stand on my own merits at the end of the day. Likewise, I should also note that this makes me capable of rejecting the not so meritorious: I don't feel the least bit of kinship with Mitt Romney although we are both Americans, nor was Benito Mussolini my "brother" simply because his last name and my maiden one ended with an "i". Nancy Pelosi? My mother and father never knew her!

And I can be comfortable within my own skin -- I'm nobody important, but I like me; I like my life; thus far it hasn't been a totally regrettable one; I've even hit some high notes of which I'm proud. Part of me is what I physically look like (it is only a part or parts of me though, not the whole) -- I'm accepting of it, enough so that anyone who takes issue with it obviously has problems beyond anything I can or should address (and this too, my physical self, has been in some measure quite beyond my control; it is my innate, unchangeable reality -- I can't do anything about it even if I would want to, so I've opted to live and be happy with it). I refuse to stand on others' merits, but I also refuse to own other people's hangups (like taking umbrage at my complexion or what I've got between my legs, for instance).

EDIT: Sorry for the ramble, but I thought this was important: I don't like critical race theory because it is unjust and ugly -- it is...racist. And of course I don't want to see white people go extinct...for one simple reason; the world would be a far more boring and smaller place if some of its variety was lost (and of course, I like me, and me and my progeny are white...so simple biological survival).

3
cotoneaster 3 points ago +4 / -1

The only people receptive to individuality and non-racial thinking is white people, who are already acting with extreme individuality and without racial identity.

Meanwhile, non-whites are acting collectively and racially, and absolutely killing us.

We have to take the world as it actually is, in the here and now.

0
tombombadil 0 points ago +1 / -1

In what way are they killing us? I don’t agree that they are. Our economies and militaries are still way stronger.

5
GoldenEagle1776 5 points ago +5 / -0

Our nations are being flooded with arabs, blacks and hispanics. Our own children are being taught to hate themselves, their country and it's heroes. They are being taught to hate Western Civilization, all its created and it those that built it.

0
tombombadil 0 points ago +1 / -1

Those things were true. But we’re winning now.

4
cotoneaster 4 points ago +4 / -0

Almost don't know how to answer your question. Are you from 1990? Yes, our superior economic and military power defeated the Soviet Union. Great job, guys!

Now, fast forward 30 years to the present, the issue of race is topical. You might have heard of the rioting and BLM. The OP mentioned critical race theory. These are some of the important issues of the day.

As of yet, our mighty nuclear submarines and stealth fighters have not defeated critical race theory or intersectionality, nor have they convinced the xirs and blue haired lesbians to vote Republican.

As for our economy, I would suggest looking into the advertising and HR departments of our great capitalist enterprises, as well as the shows put out by Disney and Netflix.

They are like drug addicts and the drug is white guilt and saving minorities. That is why they flip out when "oppressed groups" turn on the Woke ideology and question them. They go full racist bigot. The drug supply is being messed with.

The only way that happens is with PT's reelection and cleaning out RINO / globo filth in Congress.

President Trump can appoint anyone he wants, but the Senate will just keep rejecting them until they get another big government globalist seditionist in there.

No. He could appoint someone in a temporary capacity (i.e., like when Ric Grenell was acting DNI), but eventually that would go to court and would lose.

Congress is the key, and rightfully so. This is a failure of We the People to allow Congress and D.C. grow the government so much and become so anti-America and corrupt.

As far as I’m aware, that hasn’t actually happened for any of Trump’s appointments yet. If they’re going to reject his appointments, force them to do it. Force the Senate to actually vote on it so we can root out the traitors.

2
DNC_Ballot_QATeam 2 points ago +3 / -1

4
DeplorableCentipede 4 points ago +4 / -0

Did that happen privately or did they reject the nominees in a vote?

2
DNC_Ballot_QATeam 2 points ago +3 / -1

Probably in private or indirectly. Trump team had issues with cabinet nominations due to transition team hiccup. Names were often floated and Senators often voiced the names they supported. When short lists were floated the GOP would be vocal. Ratcliffe on his first go around was not supported but also not rejected by GOP senators publically. Trump pretty much served up potential winners. DaVos was the only one I recall being the closest to not getting approved. Most withdrew before a vote was made.

Managing payroll and benefits is a real job, in my opinion.

HR should not be enforcing participation in their personal political ideology on threat of employment termination of anyone who disagrees with them.

4
Italians_Invented_2A 4 points ago +4 / -0

HR definitely does not do payrolls.

3

Depends on the company. HR is sometimes truly necessary when they do actual work.

Exactly!!!! Never did I reply to an HR survey about trainings, even when anon, because they aren't anon. Not a chance.

62
slaphappy2 62 points ago +62 / -0

Look at this shit. There are all kinds of divisions in the DOJ.

Each one of them has its own freaking office of Diversity and Inclusion - staffed with people who hate conservatives and Trump - and basically collect salaries for sitting around all day figuring out ways to annoy whites, guilt-trip them and race-bait them.

Since their bullshit Racial Training has been "postponed" - they are going to try to get it reinstated.

In the meantime, each office is going to continue all their other dozens of activities designed to brainwash, annoy and distract employees with bullshit racial theories.

These fucking offices need to be removed ASAP.

"“It does not appear that the Division has much, if any, discretion related to postponing the training at this moment,” Matthew Hammond, assistant chief of the department’s division’s telecommunications and broadband section, wrote in an email obtained by MarketWatch. “We were excited about this training. We had received a lot of positive responses about the training, and we were looking forward to it.”

Hammond, a member of the division’s diversity committee, added: “I know many of you are as disappointed as we are, and many employees will be as well. Hopefully the guidance will be issued soon, and there will be a way forward.”

You do understand that these Offices of Diversity and Inclusion exist for the sole purpose of producing racial bullshit to harass employees, right ?

If you remove one training - they will come out with fifteen other programs. I'll create one right now : a Racial Consciousness Essay Contest ( that's one thing they do in my office ).

What the fuck is “unconscious bias?” Is that like when I assume somebody is a pedophile because they support Joe Biden?

35
Italians_Invented_2A 35 points ago +36 / -1

It's their trick to say that all white people are racist, no matter what they believe or do.

It's to dehumanize white people in preparation for the genocide.

18
Prometheus76 18 points ago +18 / -0

It's the Left's version of Original Sin. Here's the bad news: in the religion of the Left, there is no redemption and no forgiveness. You can only be scapegoated and exiled to the wilderness (cancel culture).

5
Italians_Invented_2A 5 points ago +5 / -0

I strongly believe this. White privilege is the original sin.

I'm an atheist. I think Christianity understood that humanity is naturally inclined to self guilt; so Christians describe the original sin and then say that it's resolved by Jesus, thus freeing humanity from its self loathing.

Like you say, white privilege is a sin that has no redemption. This is why every survey consistently shows that leftists are less happy in life.

-7
All_lives_matter -7 points ago +2 / -9

Downvote me but there is some value in thinking about unconscious bias. VALID examples are things related to evaluating an employee such as recency bias or personal relationship. Obviously anything about white man bad isn’t.

14
Italians_Invented_2A 14 points ago +15 / -1

Ok, downvoted.

"Bias" is a Marxist term to make people stupid. Our brain sees patterns and wants to make logical decisions on them.

Try to name a legitimate bias. You can't. Of course ceteris paribus I'm going to listen more to the employee who's been in the company for years compared to a new employee.

6
Postal 6 points ago +6 / -0

3
Johnson 3 points ago +3 / -0

Exactly. I'd rather keep working with someone I spoke with and especially if I trust their personal situation. These 'biases' reflect what function best for us in work.

2
Jakethejackpot 2 points ago +2 / -0

Implicit bias. Doctors possess it when dealing with obese patients. They assume they aren't health conscious and care for their body in all facets. Just cause tubbo likes mayo doesn't necessarily insinuate he's not mindful of his medications, injuries, therapy etc.

1
Italians_Invented_2A 1 point ago +3 / -2

If one is obese, it's the proof that he's not health conscious and doesn't care about his body.

So it's not a bias, it's just a fact.

Any more examples?

1
Jakethejackpot 1 point ago +1 / -0

You're misunderstanding implicit bias. The fat person takes his insulin, he consumes his multi vitamins and takes his blood pressure meds. In medicine that is a compliant patient who is mindful of his health. However, most doctors would assume, that because of the implication of being obese, that the patient is not taking his meds and does not care about nutrition at all. That is how an unconscious bias can impact our expectations for the circumstance.

Another example, a sheltered, privileged white kid who sees authority as safety will implicitly trust an officer who is patrolling through his neighbourhood. Rather, an underprivileged, single-mothered black kid would view a cop patrolling through his neighborhood negatively.

Our experiences shape our understandings and we build patterns to make sense of things. We are not robots who think in binary absolutes. Humans are tribal.

Even the lefties in the class were getting results that said they were biased against x,y,z and they were like, nah that's some bullshit

Those results were likely correct to one degree or another.

Racism is a Marxist construct. It's just tribalism re-branded.

Tribalism is hardwired into the brain of every human. It's a feature, not a bug.

To be fair, I remember some of them saying they were biased against whites even though they were white, and they were confused. You could be right since white guilt. The irony is that the original researchers that started all this nonsense about unconscious bias have washed their hands of it and keep publicly saying that their research is not robust enough to justify these kinds of test or this training. This is just the latest grift of the white-guilt con artists.

There's a huge industry around holding companies hostage with legal (and illegal) threats until they implement this kind of training. Read about Jesse Jackson, to get started down the rabbit hole.

2

That's why school choice is important. I expect that if school choice increases, then the disruption will create a double down effect (because SJWs always double down) and scare people out of the system even more.
