This is the actual poll, instead of a tweet:

https://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/trump_administration/prez_track_sep18

The historical data is interesting:

https://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/trump_administration/trump_approval_index_history

+4 is the highest "approval index" (strongly approve minus strongly disapprove) since January, 2017, before all the Russia bullshit started.

I may have missed others in a quick scan, but aside from a single day of a 53% total approval rating in September, 2019, this is the highest it has been since early February, 2017.

Spez: I'm not sure how they came up with a 6-point difference between Trump and Obama at this time. The graph shows a 4 point difference between Trump at 53% on 2020-09-18 and Obama at 49% on 2012-09-18. Maybe they are comparing it to 2016-09-18?

I'll see if I can find the data and followup.

No, it's not 2016. But, it wouldn't make sense to compare Trump in 2020 to Obama in 2016, as he wasn't running for reelection.

I'm trying to find the tabular data on Rasmussen for Obama's first term, but I may have to be a subscriber.

Rasmussen does some weird index where they compare those who strongly approve to those who strongly disapprove. Think they call it the presidential approval index. It's a separate number from the net approval rate, but maybe comparing those values is where the 6% comes in?

Either way, I find a comparison to Obama, or even the net approval rating, to be not very meaningful. I like that his numbers are trending up. I think that is the takeaway.

I wondered that as well, but I was unable to find the "approval index" data for Obama's first term. I was able to find his second term:

https://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/obama_administration/prez_track_jan18

I agree with you about the trends. But, it's worth noting that Obama won reelection despite his job approval being in the dumpster.

I think a large part of the reason was Romney was a shitty candidate, made worse by a shitty Misleadia. Biden is much worse than Romney, but he has the Misleadia covering for him.

This election is going be a blood bath. It has to. Liberals are doing everything they can to steal this election.

They are ridiculuously incompetent, their effort to steal the last election was alot more effective than the mess they made in 2020.

Diversity hires from poisoned ivy leagues.

haha They're just handing President Trump the biggest election victory since Reagan in 1984. It's hilarious to watch but oh well ..

The polls are all over the place, but I think it is useful to point out that Rasmussen was one of the most accurate polls in 2016. If they are among the most accurate this time, then Trump wins easily.

Don't get complacent with this good news, pedes. We know we've got a great silent majority, but we need to out-vote BOTH legitimate Democratic votes AND all the cheating schemes they have cooked up. It needs to be a true red wave to unequivocally work.

BHO never had the true approval of the public, but he did have the approval of the Marxist & complicit media to boost his BS ....see there's the difference.

Wow, Biden must be a really good candidate, to be leading in all the polls then.

Looking at the graph of President Trump's Approval/Disapproval... The RED disapproval line is pretty much horizontal (with little wiggles): it's the same, damn 35-40% that strongly disapprove -- ie., the Leftist/Dems. These idiots ONLY disapprove; clearly not having anything to do with events, what President Trump says or does, or whether what he tries worked or not... They disapprove no matter what. Why even poll these fools??!

The polls are still not 100% accurate because they can't be. The Truth is President Trump has been up by double digits since last year. The Dems never had a chance to start with but all of these polls are oversampling dems and undersampling republicans and independents. The Establishment is fighting for their survival and they are going down hard. But oh well. Get ready for president Trump's second term because he has won this election already..

Sadly, this doesn’t matter as the Dems have been openly admitting that they’re going to steal this election from us, no matter what. I really hope GEOTUS and his Administration have a way of countering this.

pmurTJdlanoD 6 points ago +6 / -0

There’s no fucking way GEOTUS rolls over to that after all the deep state fighting he’s done 24/7 for four years
