Did the killer know that he was a Trump supporter / a republican?

Was he wearing some kind of MAGA / republican clothes, was he talking about it etc?

I think there are coincidences. But I also believe the story would be much, much more powerful if there was information that the killer knew for sure he was killing someone for their politics.
