I work in a hospital and have to wear a mask. Haven't caught covid-19 unless I'm one of the asymptomatic cases. None of my coworkers have caught it either, and we're routinely on our covid ward. Masks work. Please use them if you're able to. Edit - y'all acting retarded like libs. Check yourself.

Spoiler: There are no asymptomatic cases. That's called "not being sick".

Pre-symtomatic is a thing, and that's when most are contagious with any disease. Asymptomatic means you no longer have the symptoms (duh) and can't spread it anymore.

Except for the studies showing asymptomatic patients can and do spread covid. Just because you're not showing symptoms doesn't mean you can't give it to your fellow Americans.

You're lying. If you really did work with covid patients u would know if you'd had it (assuming accurate testing of course) because your hospital would have rotated all staff thru antigen testing.

Its actually appearing that it's not very contagious. Even the new England journal of medicine states that contracting it depends on spending more than 15 minutes within 3 feet of an infected person. Said there's a basically zero percent chance of contracting it thru a normal social interaction in a store.

Masks are security theater at best and actually harmful and used for submission training at worst. Heard of Mask Mouth yet? Facial rashes due to masks? People's teeth and gums are suffering due to rebreathing your own bacteria and breath. Fungus is thriving.

I'm not lying. We don't get antibody testing, and we don't get covid testing unless we're symptomatic. All I asked was if you can wear a mask, you probably should. But hey, I only work at a hospital with an entire floor of covid patients, what do I know?

I work in a hospital as well and over 20 staff on the COVID floor caught it using hand hygiene, contact precautions and masks soooo what's your point? Also do your research on "asymptomatic spread', its a farse just like mask effectiveness.

But the other people who replied to me said covid wasn't actually very contagious. But you're saying over 20 staff caught it. Let's try to agree on facts. Is covid highly contagious?

Oh and yeah we haven't had a staff outbreak here, at all. I'm wondering why your hospital sucks so much.

Sure, its highly contagious when you're an RN on a floor soley treating infected patients for 12 hrs a day. Go to a room full of kids with a cold, you've got a good chance of getting one too. Thats not the same as going out in public where the numbers of positive cases are sometimes less than 1%, your chances are pretty good. Those who are susceptible or high risk should take precautions, just like with a gazillion other illnesses. Everyone else should be able to live freely without having masks that arent proven effective mandated on them.

Also my hospital doesnt suck, it was a COVID hub that got transfers from the other hospitals so keep your snide comments to yourself. My guess is by "I work in a hospital", you're probably in housekeeping or a tech at best, not providing direct care to fellow Americans.

I'm a covid RN and sometimes HUC. Dunno how you expect me to prove it. And I've never advocated mandatory masks, only said they do work (not to be confused with 100% effective) and that IF you're able to, you probably should. That's not an outrageous statement to make.

Masks don't do shit. Has everyone not only forgot about the video showing someone vaping through the mask with all the smoke coming out but that during the spanish flu, over a 100 years ago they were proven USELESS.

You are wrong. Masks do plenty like forcing us to comply, annoy us and make us antisocial.

if I take mine off the thought police report me to the combine. we all have to take our masks off together and refuse to wear them
