But the other people who replied to me said covid wasn't actually very contagious. But you're saying over 20 staff caught it. Let's try to agree on facts. Is covid highly contagious?
Oh and yeah we haven't had a staff outbreak here, at all. I'm wondering why your hospital sucks so much.
Sure, its highly contagious when you're an RN on a floor soley treating infected patients for 12 hrs a day. Go to a room full of kids with a cold, you've got a good chance of getting one too. Thats not the same as going out in public where the numbers of positive cases are sometimes less than 1%, your chances are pretty good. Those who are susceptible or high risk should take precautions, just like with a gazillion other illnesses. Everyone else should be able to live freely without having masks that arent proven effective mandated on them.
Also my hospital doesnt suck, it was a COVID hub that got transfers from the other hospitals so keep your snide comments to yourself. My guess is by "I work in a hospital", you're probably in housekeeping or a tech at best, not providing direct care to fellow Americans.
I'm a covid RN and sometimes HUC. Dunno how you expect me to prove it. And I've never advocated mandatory masks, only said they do work (not to be confused with 100% effective) and that IF you're able to, you probably should. That's not an outrageous statement to make.
No need to prove it friend, its the internets. I apologize for insinuating you're for mandated masks, and while I don't see any hard evidence showing they ARE effective, I can agree that for the high risk group, they're probably a good idea.
