I don't see the appeal, I bought my first iphone about 3 months ago and I absolutely regret dropping damn near 500 bucks when I could've just gotten another android for like 250.

I wish there was a third option in the marketplace but I switched from Android to iPhone due to Google and privacy concerns. There are things I don't like about the iPhone but it really is "pick your poison" when it comes to the cell phone market.

The appeal is that now you're in the iOS ecosystem, especially for iMessage. It's huge in the US & Canada.

Also a secondary reason, is that phone will last you for ~5 years, without being nudged or forced to upgrade via OS slowdowns.

  • If you voluntarily lust to upgrade sooner, that's on you.

They do last many years. Just keep it in a case. They never really even slow down when you upgrade.
