You have a greater chance of winning the lottery while being struck by lightning than catching the holocough from an asymptomatic person or pawpaw fruit.

Spez: yes I said pawpaw. https://mobile.reuters.com/video/watch/idOVCCIUZCJ

UpdootVeteran 43 points ago +43 / -0

Now when you pick a pawpaw Or a prickly pear And you prick a raw paw Well next time beware Don't pick the prickly pear by the paw When you pick a pear Try to use the claw But you don't need to use the claw When you pick a pear of the big pawpaw Have I given you a clue?

Never forget the 200,000 holocough deaths.

But definitely forget the deaths from suicides, drug overdoses, crime, and other effects of people's lives being destroyed by social restrictions. (And especially forget the BLM crime wave that also probably spread the holocough!)

2
IslamIsEvil 2 points ago +2 / -0

Many deaths have occurred because people were too scared or unable to get medical tests and treatments for non Covid issues.

1
HockeyMom4Trump 1 point ago +1 / -0

Or from loneliness and isolation, like my sweet grandmother

BranchCovidian 1 point ago +3 / -2

47
billiejoebandit 47 points ago +47 / -0

Exactly. Have been saying this since researchers and doctors were releasing studies back in March saying exactly this. Those studies were getting completely ghosted.

Thing is, if there is no asymptomatic spread, there is NO REASON FOR MASKS!

Oback_Barama 37 points ago +37 / -0

There is no such thing as asymptotic cases.

You don’t have to have a test to know if you are sick.

This has been true your whole life. Why do people doubt it now?

13
PatrickSebast 13 points ago +13 / -0

Asymptomatic case means you acquired some small amount of virus and your body produced antibodies and killed it like it probably does on a regular basis for various diseases.

Spreading while asymptomatic is uncommon for most viruses though.

13
silflay 13 points ago +14 / -1 (edited)

Which is why viruses typically cause your body to cough, sneeze and otherwise shed itself to spread to others. If those things don’t happen, it can’t spread. I thought this was common sense and yet the idiot masses seem to have lost all of it.

Which I suspect is why we’ve seen the absolutely ridiculous claims that you can spread the virus simply by breathing or talking. It may be technically true, but is it enough of a load to be worried about? Definitely not.

24
Robert 24 points ago +24 / -0 (edited)

If the viral load is too small to produce symptoms it's literally too small to infect anyone.

20
hotdogsforsale 20 points ago +20 / -0

One thing I wasn't aware of until recently is that the labs have to amplify the sample 30-40x, and it's widely established in the scientific community any amplifications over 20x are garbage.

6
45best45 6 points ago +6 / -0

I haven't thought about PCR in years, so this could be incorrect, but I think 30 cycles essentially means the sample has been doubled that many times. So you're actually looking at roughly 2^30 times the original sample.

1
idkfa 1 point ago +1 / -0

You are correct.

1
hotdogsforsale 1 point ago +1 / -0

Been a long time since public school math, that's 2 to the 30th power, which would be either 1073741824% or 10737418.24% the original sample?

1

2

I get that. It’s also the excuse I hear as to why a coronavirus is now able to transmit itself across quantum gateways but is also stopped by a cloth mask and also why it definitely has long term effects that will last through 6 generations of your family.

I believe it's much bigger than this. There's a very strong effort to overthrow the government and it's not "democrats".. it's the central bankers, and oligarchs, world leaders.. operating under the umbrella of the UN. Think Rothschild, Rockefeller, Gates, JP Morgan, Ford, Hewlett, Soros, Kissenger, Clinton, etc.

They're just dragging the moderate democrats through the mud and using them as pawns. They flash free shit (socialism) in front of the useful idiots on the left, so they can turn around and install a global communist dictatorship.

I strongly believe covid was released on us to crush the economy and allow for a takeover, among its many other "benefits".

Someone needs to call this what it is, a deliberate act of bioterrorism by agents foreign AND DOMESTIC.

Trump's first order of business after the election needs to be a proper and thorough investigation into the true origins of the virus (not that I think it isn't happening in some capacity already) and if his own "experts" were stakeholders who had already documented all the symptoms AND potential treatments beforehand.

I feel like "blame China" is only a small part of the story, it's the easy way out. If it weren't for the conveniently timed plandemic, the opposition wouldn't even have a chance in this election. They needed to manufacture a fresh talking point on which to oppose Trump (plus bringing defense of Obamacare back to the forefront) because running the BLM "racial inequality" angle on its own only gets you so far. There are just too many key players poised to benefit from turning an international plague into a national political issue. Too many echoes to post-2001 Bush America, the promises of safety and security in exchange for a trifling tithe of our freedoms and businesses.

If we can waste three years probing and "investigating" using mob tactics in the pursuit of imaginary Russians solely because they couldn't accept the outcome of an election and turned a little white lie into a fullblown witch hunt, I think it's fair to spend a few more seeking the truth behind an act of actual terrorism along with all the "studies" that seem to always be selectively either accepted by the media or dismissed as nonsense based entirely on whether they will shape the narrative. I want to see Fauci squirm for real this time.

Didn't the NYT come this conclusion a week or two ago, too?

Spez: oops here it is:

The New York Times said last month that a review of the cycle thresholds of positive cases in Nevada, New York and Massachusetts indicated that "up to 90 percent of people testing positive carried barely any virus."

18
Leatherwood [S] 18 points ago +18 / -0

yes, but for some reason the MSM and all dems ignored it.

15
Shwoogin 15 points ago +15 / -0

It's pretty incredible, that is an absolutely tremendous story. It should be up there with HCQ and a vaccine that works. It ought to almost completely change the way certain governments are addressing the WuFlu the very next day. Ought to. That's how you know it is all a game.

7
charbatch 7 points ago +7 / -0

It's just amazing that the NY Times published that. And almost every other media outlet ignored it. It's almost as if that was the plan. Acknowledge it so you can say you did, then bury the story as fast as possible.

2
roytheboy 2 points ago +2 / -0

I think this makes sense. And I thought the whole point of the lockdown was to "flatten the curve," so we don't overrun the hospitals. So I don't know why everyone (ie the left) are so obsessed with the infection numbers, we should really be looking at hospital capacities. If they're doing fine, time to reopen.

Growing body of research suggests that a significant number of confirmed COVID-19 infections in the U.S. — perhaps as many as 9 out of every 10 — may not be infectious at all, with much of the country's testing equipment possibly picking up mere fragments of the disease rather than full-blown infections.

I just realized something. With covid they are practicing how to manipulate data and public opinion. Election is game day.

For both examples (covid and election) there is the real data: votes or flu cases/tests/deaths. They are tuning their control mechanisms (media science education etc) to obscure, corrupt and call into question the validity of the true data. Think of the extreme 99% positivity rates that were happening. Calibration.

We have to turn this around on them somehow. Make them vote in person "because it's harder for trump to steal votes that way", etc.

1
Littleirishmaid 1 point ago +1 / -0

I’ve been reading some of the keftists saying they are voting in person because they don’t trust the USPS now that Trump ruined it. So, there’s that. But, I know that people are picking up and returning in person their absentee ballots or mail in ballots to avoid the USPS. Weird. They’ll go into a public place to get one, then return it, rather than putting it in a mailbox.

Over the first month of college -- NO NEW CASES, no hospitalizations:

Fort Lewis College surprised by low COVID-19 cases After 17 students test positive during move-in week, no one else detected with virus Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2020 5:10 PM

Fort Lewis College had given 2,683 COVID-19 tests as of Wednesday, with 17 confirmed cases – all of which were reported during move-in week, when students were required to be tested. As of Wednesday, the college was reporting no active cases.

Of the 17 people who tested positive during move-in week, only four showed symptoms, and all students have recovered and are back in the general student population, Dupont said.

“We anticipated ongoing cases we would be dealing with,” he said. “We’re very pleased with the way our community has taken this seriously. But to be honest, we’re surprised at the low case numbers after the first couple of weeks of school.”

The glowing soul of Carl Sagan could descend from heaven with hard proof that Covid is less dangerous than the common cold, as well as a free and 100% effective home remedy that cures the disease forever. The left would still insist that every remain hogtied in their own basement until after the election just to be safe.

This also calls into question the death counts.

If someone with diabetes died and was covid+, but was among those potentially 90% of asymptomatic cases (tests which would normally have not come back positive), it would also mean that covid should not have been listed as their cause of death.

How many people have been forced to forgo elective surgeries because of this? Then their condition worsens until they're forced to be hospitalized, they test positive for covid because the amplification cycles are so high that the air at the hospital contains enough trace amounts to be detected (which isn't a stretch considering the amount of hospital acquired infections people get), and then they succumb to their (non-covid) disease.

2

https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2020.04.26.20080911v1.full.pdf

Huh, did you know we had different standards to prevent the reporting of false positives from PCR testing on previous virus outbreaks? China requires that you're sick or you've at least been exposed and a positive PCR test. Previously, the CDC had the same standard. That just isn't part of the acceptable narrative for this outbreak. That's weird. Isn't it?

From the first link:

Box 1: Measures minimizing false positive results in PCR-based tests Then (US CDC and WHO recommendations): SARS-CoV-1 " To decrease the possibility of a false-positive result, testing should be limited to patients with a high index of suspicion for having SARS-CoV disease...In addition, any positive specimen should be retested in a reference laboratory to confirm that the specimen is positive. To be confident that a positive PCR specimen indicates that the patient is infected with SARS-CoV, a second specimen should also be confirmed positive."

"[R]equirements for the laboratory diagnosis of SARS...almost always involves two or more different tests or the same assay on two or more occasions during the course of the illness or from different clinical sites...A single test result is insufficient for the definitive diagnosis of SARS-CoV infection."

MERS-CoV "Confirmation of a "presumptive positive" result by CDC is required."

Requirements for testing include both specific clinical features and epidemiologic risk. Testing should be limited to persons with specified symptoms and, in most cases, elevated risk of exposure.

Ebola Virus "CDC recommends that Ebola testing be conducted only for persons who...[have] both consistent signs or symptoms and risk factors...Any presumptive positive Ebola test result must be confirmed at the CDC...CDC considers a single diagnostic test...insufficient for public health decision-making."

Case confirmation requires specific clinical signs in addition to a single positive PCR test.

Zika Virus Testing is recommended only for pregnant women with symptoms and recent exposure, or asymptomatic pregnant women with ongoing exposure. "[B]ecause of the potential for false-positive...results, updated recommendations include [PCR] testing of both serum and urine and concurrent Zika virus IgM antibody testing to confirm the diagnosis...with more than one test."

Testing is recommended only for symptomatic patients.

Now : SARS-CoV-2 Except for validation of a laboratory's first few results, we found no requirement or recommendation for a second confirmatory test—either on a separate sample or a second aliquot from the initial sample—in guidance documents from the World Health Organization, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control, Public Health England, the Public Health Agency of Canada, the Pan American Health Organization, or South Korea's Centers for Disease Control and Prevention; instead these entities require only a single positive PCR result to confirm infection in either symptomatic or asymptomatic persons.

The Chinese Centers for Disease Control and Prevention requires clinical manifestations and in most cases epidemiological exposure in addition to a single positive PCR result to confirm a case. Since May 27 the Norwegian Institute of Public Health has recommended confirmatory tests of positive results in persons who are both asymptomatic and without a history of exposure. In most regions testing was initially restricted to persons with clinical signs and symptoms and elevated epidemiological risk, but as tests became more available many authorities called for and implemented broader use of PCR-based tests, including testing of individuals with no symptoms or known exposure of risk

Not an expert by any means, but I have a minor in microbiology and used to work with PhD microbiologists. Based on my understanding, viral loads have to be sufficient in order to cause an infection, which would mean exhibit symptoms.
