there was a meme/joke/rumor started in 2016 that Ted Cruz was the Zodiac Killer. He is too young to possibly be the zodiac killer but this thing had some real legs for a while.
Even Ted has played along at points.
Ted Cruz held a rally near my college during 2016 and during the rally I got to shake his hand. To this day I still tell people “I shook hands with the Zodiac Killer”. I also use “I met the front man for 80s hair band Stryper”.
