It has to do with agreeability. Women are far more agreeable than Men. Men are more apt to negotiate. This also has something to do with the wage gap issue. Genuine conservative women (not those that merely LARP as such) in "modern" times tend to have access to firearms. A woman that has no gun can be much more easily physically threatened and coerced by an average man, even without a gun, since women are on average physically much weaker than men muscle-wise. A women that does have a gun, on the other hand, is much more difficult to threaten and coerce physically. This doesn't fix everything, for there are other kinds of threats, coercion, etc. etc. etc. than merely physical threats, and there are a multitude of other aspects, such as women having the challenges of being less durable physically, but the 2nd amendment is an extreme help reg. meaningful, sustainable and actual equality.
(as a side-note, being less durable physically is a major reason why women tend to be very/extremely poor choices for front-line soldiers - see for instance the female marine corps officer that become infertile due to her work: https://archive.li/o7cQt , and she was one of the female officers that AFAIK took her job seriously and was capable and competent. And women being unavailable due to pregnancy can be critical reg. war.
