Yeah she's supposed to be farther away, but her head is larger than theirs not smaller. Especially considering that she was about 5 feet tall, and other photos confirm that her head was not out of proportion with her body.
I know nothing about photography because I never wasted time or money on such a useless class, but I think there are lenses and different settings that can make the main focal point appear much larger than in really is
