Women will marry some unattractive guy if he has money because money converts to success which converts to social value. You never see men settle down with unattractive-yet-successful women though because men don't feel social value converts to attractiveness.
There are countless examples of girls/women in large crowds going crazy over some guy/s. A boy band, a movie star, whatever. They lose their fucking minds screaming for/at/about him/them. Why? Because that's what all the other women are doing. It's like a feeding frenzy. You will never see an attractive homeless woman for as long as you live because most guys would be willing to take on some of the burdens of some failure of a woman if she happens to be attractive. Additionally we have spent the last ten years being subjected to attempts to socially re-engineer constructs of perceived female beauty and they've been an utter failure. Men still prefer feminine, submissive, conventionally attractive women who will manage the children/household while he 'hunts'.
