Yes. I’m counting down the days to his primary.

State Republicans need to get behind ONE challenger, or it's all for nothing.

Done. Murkowski better be getting a flood from Rs in Alaska right now - it's the only way to even begin to atone for the absolute fuckery of the impeachment.

May not be in the state anymore personally, but Alaska has a fair amount of fuckup politicians (Dunleavy and Murkowski being the obvious examples) who use the R title in a way that is an out-and-out lie for how fucking conservative-red the state actually is.

Three seat buffer is still cutting it REALLY close - literally relying on Pence to break a tie. And I'm not as sure about people like Graham. ALL Senators need to be told that we want a confirmed justice.

DatNewbChemist 27 points ago +27 / -0

Guys, I literally fucking mean this. Get off your ass and spend two minutes writing an email to your senator. PUT PRESSURE DOWN because if you don't we might truly be fucked. (Imagine Trump not getting reelected and Biden/Harris choosing. Or the Republicans not holding the Senate and the Dems refusing to confirm anyone. Or how him not passing a justice will look days before the election. WRITE TO YOUR SENATOR)

I don't think Feinstein cares what I think to be honest desu

3
sharthappens 3 points ago +3 / -0

What if my senator is Klobuchar?

4
DatNewbChemist 4 points ago +4 / -0

Write one anyway. You won't sway her, but she'll be less inclined to make as big of a scene because she'll know there are voters watching her that have voiced that they don't want this to be a political stunt.

2
wehavetogoback 2 points ago +2 / -0

what's the point writing to a dem senator? mine doesn't seem too bad, but I don't know if it would help at all

3
ughicanteven 3 points ago +4 / -1

What I am worried about is pence only breaks ties, but if our rinos vote present then it will be 50-47 and we lose, there is no tie for him to break and 50 votes isn’t enough

1
Carbum 1 point ago +1 / -0

We are 53-47. If the 3 Rinos vote that makes 50-50. Most likely they will not all vote for it or against it.. just present.

Yogapede 1 point ago +1 / -0

West Virginia pedes... call Manchin too

14
Bullwinkle 14 points ago +14 / -0

If Collins betrays Trump over this, I do not see how she has any hope of being re-elected. The Trump voters simply won’t turn out for her.

Oh there's enough traitors to go around, but they know this is the end of the line for them, so they'll fall in line.

21
Law_Sam 21 points ago +21 / -0

We’ve got 53 plus Pence. So even without the traitors we must do this. Romney’s vote to impeach seals his political fate.

20
AngelMark 20 points ago +20 / -0

All KIDDIE FUCKERS

20
Ben45 20 points ago +20 / -0

Fuck all three of them. I NEED to see that sly smile on Pence's face as he casts the deciding vote on Trump's third SCOTUS Justice

thistlemitten 12 points ago +12 / -0

Make some noise, Pedes. The future of the nation depends on it.

Up vote this and sticky. Blow up the PHONES.

7
ABrainDisease 7 points ago +7 / -0

Where are you getting your Susan Collins info? Everything ive seen says shes given no comment in it.

Collins mum on whether she’d support replacing Ginsburg before election

6
Winter_Is_Coming2020 6 points ago +6 / -0

Romney staff released a statement that he never said he would not vote Due to the timing. That doesn’t mean that rino won’t come up with some excuse, but they don’t want the optics that he is flat out refusing to consider it

6
ATRAYA 6 points ago +6 / -0

Might want to post their phone numbers.

6
FalconGK81 6 points ago +6 / -0

We can lose Collins, Murkowski, and Mittens and still confirm 50-50 (with Pence tie-breaker). Just can't lose anymore.

4
ughicanteven 4 points ago +4 / -0

If those three vote present then the vote is 50 to 47 and it fails. Pence only breaks ties, he doesn’t make it 51 in all scenarios

1
FalconGK81 1 point ago +1 / -0

Are you sure? Do you have a source for this? 50-47 wouldn't need Pence tie break because there is no tie, the 50 would win. Is this untrue?

1
ughicanteven 1 point ago +1 / -0

i'm not sure, I'm an idiot and I am hearing different things. I thought to pass a judicial nom we'd need 51 votes, not 50-47. thinking it over now more though I'm probably wrong. In which case, good for us.. though we also still have to worry about the arizona special election, mcsally might lose and a democrat could be installed before november 30th and ready to vote. so that's 4 republicans we have to worry about

1
FalconGK81 1 point ago +1 / -0

I tried to do some research on this and couldn't find a solid answer. I read the Constitution and it just says

and he shall nominate, and by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, shall appoint Ambassadors, other public Ministers and Consuls, Judges of the supreme Court, and all other Officers of the United States, whose Appointments are not herein otherwise provided for, and which shall be established by Law: but the Congress may by Law vest the Appointment of such inferior Officers, as they think proper, in the President alone, in the Courts of Law, or in the Heads of Departments.

It doesn't require that their advice and consent be a majority. Interestingly, just before this, when discussing ratification, it explicitly requires two thirds majority:

He shall have Power, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, to make Treaties, provided two thirds of the Senators present concur;

So the Constitution is unclear about whether a plurality of those present is acceptable. I imagine the rules of the Senate would tell us. It's an interesting thought though, its entirely possible what you suggested is true.

1
Yogapede 1 point ago +1 / -0

It’s a simple majority. 50-47 wins it

Tell them you'll vote for goddamn shoe leather before you'll vote them back in, unless they vote how Mitch tells them to.

2
txladyvoter 2 points ago +2 / -0

There is absolutely nothing stopping all of us from calling and emailing Mittens, Murky and Collins. They sure do put you on their money list for contributions. Make them pay them back in votes for the GOP nominee for SC!

1
Meme_Too 1 point ago +1 / -0

Collins is up for reelection and will be pandering to leftists. But her impassioned speech in favor of Kavanaugh and her vote for his confirmation will never be forgotten by them. She's already cast her lot, so she might as well insure the Republican vote.

1
tdwinner2020 1 point ago +1 / -0

"I guess you can call Mitt too."

Democrats don't vote for R nominations.

1
Yogapede 1 point ago +1 / -0

Call Manchin too - we could get a yes from him. He voted yes on Kavanaugh (thou it was close to his election) but he’s not impossible to get

1
michaelsuede 1 point ago +1 / -0

I think the reason dems are so effective at mobilizing people to contact their representatives is because they use VPN software and google maps to pick addresses in the districts of weak representatives and pretend to be people in their district, even though they are actually working in a Chinese/Russian/Israeli troll farm being paid by the Tides Foundation.

This is wrong, and no one should do this. Especially republicans. Very wrong and bad.

1
KiltedTailor 1 point ago +1 / -0

"Contact the Senator"? are you living in 1920? ALL contact is thru some 'call center' likely in India or "Outer Bora Bora". The Senator NEVER sees, nor hears anything you send. They ONLY listen to the Man with the Bag of Money

To get them to listen you would have to Violate Rule # 02 EEEKK !

2
Yogapede 2 points ago +2 / -0

Yes they do. Source: a family member works for US senators office. But just keep it simple. ā€œSupport President Trump’s Supreme Court pickā€ is enough and even if you write a 3 page letter/20 minute call that’s the message they get. They do track the calls, emails and letters. For stuff like this it amounts to a list ā€œfor and againstā€. It DOES make a difference if you’re in your state so you do need to provide your name and address. Doesn’t help to call other states. If no name/address they won’t tally it. Try to be polite and brief - even to Dems.

They DO discard anything from out of state. Unless you’re Jeff Flake and get ā€œconfrontedā€ by a paid shill in a DC elevator. They are (supposed to be) beholden to the constituents of their state.

1
Yogapede 1 point ago +1 / -0

Adding - both my senators are R (one based, one squishy) and I’m still calling them both Monday to express support for GEOTUS pick. Takes less than 5 mins and you bet your ass the other side is calling.

1
KiltedTailor 1 point ago +1 / -0

And Back; Thank you for the update. Sadly, my experience with 'contact your Senator' was wholly negative. A Sample; I wrote, at length, to Maines "Independent' i.e. Democrat senator,A. King about "Russia-gate". All I ever got for email reply were irrelevant form letters, all of which could have come from the Desk of Adam Schiff. So perhaps the family member is correct. The actions of any Senator show us otherwise

haha it must be awful to be a senator right now.
