Its not really hypocrisy at all. Senate has complete authority to not affirm the President's nomination if it feels so. This is the power provided to the Senate by the Constitution. When the President and Senate are from opposing parties, there is no compulsion on the Senate to do so.

Now WH and Senate are the same parties.

Ratios of 2016 and 2020 are completely different.
