So. I've read that if a sitting Senator is nominated for SC they bypass the judiciary committee and can go straight to a vote on the floor. I'm not 100% on that but if so...
Trump had 3 sitting Senators on his list of 20. Cruz, Hawley, and Cotton.
Cruz and Hawley both came out and said they would rather remain serving their constituents... which leaves Cotton who is young and arguably the most conservative Senator in office.
Now, read McConnell's statement... pay attention to the language at the end...
"President Trump's nominee will receive a vote on the floor of the United States Senate."
No mention of the judiciary committee... he is certain the nominee will get to the floor and quickly... with the election only weeks away, this seems like a very bold statement...
Lastly, we have Cotton's take on being on Trump's shortlist...
To quote the article..
"In response, Cotton tweeted that he was “honored” Trump had asked him to consider the role and “will always heed the call of service to our nation.”
“It’s time for Roe v. Wade to go,” he added, referring to the court’s landmark 1973 abortion rights decision.
So, what does everyone think? Clould Tom Cotton be a new SC justice by this time next week?
Could he vote on himself? Risky to take a vote out of contention when we already have cuck rinos.
Yes.
I'm unclear on that tbh and agree losing just 1 vote could be the difference.
As long as he didn’t drink beer in college, he should be good!! 🙄
I like him or Cruz; Lee, not so much, a very distant 3rd
Someone suggested Trump nominate Biden; so the FBI would investigate the rape allegation, Burisma, pedophilia, the Secret Service “Push” incident, etc...
I like Cotton out of all of the sitting Senators on the list. It would be nice to see the GOP have some balls for a change.
