As a pede and an avid birder, I really don’t think this is one of the million examples of how Ted sucks butt, but is just him trying to get good publicity by calling attention to concerns of the Audubon Society. Making this look like a scheme is a bit of a stretch, and while I totally respect the freedom to use your lights however you want, I really love birds so I get what the Audubon is doing here. Let’s get that third SCJ!!!
I can’t guess Xir Ted Wheeler’s motivation, however doing this can certainly provide an even easier (gasp, I know...didn’t think that was possible) environment for crime to thrive. . In addition, Ted has repeatedly shown himself to be incompetent and needs to be watched closely.
