There's nothing especially wrong with being a stupid person. Some of my best friends are stupid people.
But willful stupidity is downright fucking contemptible. And the fact that my normie friends went through the Russia bullshit, Kavanaugh, Covington, Smolliette, the fake Chyna virus threat, the unconstitutional house arrests, the race hoaxes of all other varieties, the Summer of George race riots which are toootally immune to said Chyna virus, and of course the fact that the DNC's guy is a potted plant who doesn't know where he is ...
... And they STILL don't get that the media is full of shit -- like I said, contemptibly, unforgivably stupid. If you don't get that the corporate press is making up a fake, ridiculous story and playing it as real night after night at this point, I really don't know what the fuck to tell you.
It's not popular around here, but I am an atheist. As a result, it's impossible to accept a lot of the left's current talking points because so many of them are not based on actual evidence, stats, research - but instead based on emotion. It's infuriating and one of the reasons I'm now here.
So, what you are saying is correct. A lot of people on the left may be intellectually smart, booksmart, or even high IQ maybe? I'm not sure on the IQ, but somehow despite their intelligence they have completely succumbed to manipulation and emotion.
You CANNOT say you are the side of science and facts, then support the ideas of systemic racism, blacks being targetted unfairly by society as a whole, transgenders as real women, non-binary even being feasible, protests not contributing to virus spread, Trump being responsible for 200k deaths, etc etc.
