This, plus just think how much it would piss your mom off. Jk, but seriously your knowledge of what that kind of treatment does to someone is something that you can use to be better. Focusing on the joy of your own little family can go a long way to letting go of past pain and misery. Some of the best people/parents I know grew up in terrible situations.
