The dems have a bill coming up in the House in the next few weeks to legalize cannabis. I don’t think they expect it to actually pass the senate... the way they talk about it sounds more like a last minute tactic to gain more voters (“look what we could do if we could just retake the senate...”). Only problem is they falsely assume that R’s are anti-cannabis.
The R’s need to call their bluff and hijack the whole initiative. Support it hard while slamming Biden’s long-standing anti- cannabis position and Cumela’s corrupt history of throwing people in prison for it. Push it as their own idea “for the farmers”, “for the economy”, “fighting the opioid crisis”... there are plenty of politically expedient reasons they can choose. Pass it in the Senate. Trump signs the bill effectively ending prohibition under his administration while crediting the R’s for passing it despite the dem leadership opposition. Call it a win for all Americans. And voila! What started as a dem bill ends as a win for the R’s. And no more federal prohibition!
Consumed pot doesn't work for everyone. I can eat an amount that would put other people in the hospital and not feel a single thing. I tried every edible/liquid at my dispensary with no effects. I don't even bother trying anymore.
Not really... it's not the same. For those going for medical effects, alternative methods don't work the same for everyone. And it's not better on the wallet in the long run.
And if you use vape oil, you're getting other chemicals you don't need and don't want in your body.

I find it interesting how if you mention smoking marijuana people always assume it's to get high, and never for medicinal purposes. My specialist recommended me to take it for an opioid alternative, for my incurable disease. While America deemed it illegal and focused on big pharma Israel studied it and they administer it in their hospitals. I can't even get higher options for cbd oil in my state. Anyway, I hope there will be better alternatives and am currently waiting for my prescription of HCQ to come in, as it has positive results with many different diseases, including mine. I wish you all good health.

While getting high multiple times a day, I took a small mom and pop company that was making $16k a month and turned it into a multi million dollar a year operation that was purchased by a Fortune 20 company, and retired for a second time at age 34.
Also an anecdote.
And the reality lies between those two anecdotes, not at one extreme or the other.
This isn't even a political question. Capitalism feeds, clothes and shelters me. As a gun owner, capitalism provides for my defense. Capitalism provides for my entertainment. The list is endless. I could never supply all these miracles for myself without capitalism.
The fact that they can whine, without producing anything useful and still be so comfortable proves capitalism works.
