Ever seen two gangs in a turf war? Just because they're fighting each other doesn't mean they aren't both criminals and up to no good. ;)

Yet why would the Nazis then ally with the fascists of Italy and Imperial Japan in the "Anti-Comintern Pact" (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-Comintern_Pact ) against the genocidal communists?

The fascists were of the same stripe -- Benito had been a communist in his earlier years -- and Germany needed a foothold in the Med (Italy wanted a guarantee that Germany/Austria would not come storming over the Brenner Pass). As for the Japanese? To tie down the British and the Americans. Neither of Nazi Germany's alliances (correction: none, none of its alliances, for he had been allied with both Finland and USSR, who were not part of the Axis) were anything other than for convenience, a standard communist (and criminal) trait.

So the Nazis, who literally fought terrorist and murderous Antifa in the streets, and also joined in a "Anti-Comintern Pact", with many people specifically deciding to support them due to their anti-communist stances and views, and whom waged total war against communists and the Soviet Union (whom had committed planned, intentional and organized genocides upon genocides upon genocides against millions of ethnic Europeans)... were communists themselves?

The Nazis were originally the Deutsche Arbeiterpartei -- the German Worker's Party -- does that sound like anything other than a socialist party to you? The communists helped the nazis into power -- the enemy of my enemy is my friend. One of the great fallacies of history is that the Nazis were a right-leaning group. Read their platform (read the Italian Fascist manifesto as well), read the original writings concerning America and capitalism, remember that they allied with Stalin to invade Poland...they were not pro-capitalism nor pro-freedom. As I stated, their fighting with the Soviets amounted to a turf war only. The nazis were just a brand of national communism as opposed to the international branding of the Soviets (which, truth be told, was hardly as egalitarian as their sympathizers like to let on -- that was just propaganda).
