Oh so you’re the reason why I can’t get any ammo

25
TheFountainhead 25 points ago +25 / -0

There’s a very high public demand, but me thinks law enforcement is buying in bulk right now, preventing stores from getting restock times from suppliers....

Bullet3250 27 points ago +27 / -0

Covid drove high sales early,

Ammo factories closed for a few months.

International orders skyrocketed....

Then BLM happened...

Summer range shooting picks up..

And in an election year - DEMOCRATS will attack the Constitution and the 2A - propping up the Clinton Gun Ban (which had zero effect on crime) as some wonder law that saved the nation...

The MSM hates you and wants you to kneel to Dems... 24x7 "film at 11."

I think next Spring 9mm will be back in stock everywhere and prices will fall back to pre covid levels.

14
VoterIDMatters 14 points ago +16 / -2

Prices never go all the way back

12
Bullet3250 12 points ago +12 / -0

I spoke to an ammo wholesaler - and he thinks the prices will drop - as more and more ammo supply comes to the market...

Covid did close some factories... they are opening up and material prices have actually DROPPED as over all demand in the economy dropped... Buyers take advantage of that...

The Market works.

VoterIDMatters 1 point ago +4 / -3

Yes but it never goes back down to before the thing that happened to make it go up.

6
squanchingonpao 6 points ago +6 / -0

That’s simply not true.

1
VoterIDMatters 1 point ago +3 / -2

Yes it absolutely is

In early 2018 5.56 was 17 cents/rd

Went super high leading up to the midterms

Went back down but never lower than 25 cents/rd

You save this comment and check back after trump wins and is inaugurated

9mm will never be lower than 23-24 cents/rd ever again

4
Bullet3250 4 points ago +4 / -0

A ton of buyers waiting for prices to drop....

I would buy when 9mm range ammo goes below .20/round...

1
VoterIDMatters 1 point ago +4 / -3

It will never be lower than 24 cents a round again

2
D3vst8r 2 points ago +2 / -0

Prices went back after obama

2
HiddenDekuScrub 2 points ago +2 / -0

I remember going to the range and all they had at the time was the fancy hollow point stuff.

I felt bad using it on a paper target. Somebody should have been squirreling that away in their safe for emergencies. :(

14
MN_Centipede 14 points ago +14 / -0

Conservatives should make it their duty that ammo only ends up in our hands.

I'm pretty sure anyone who has enough ammo to build a small pyramid has been saving it for a while.

3
10knotsorless 3 points ago +3 / -0

Huh? That looks like a 1000 round case unpackaged.

If you’re not buying ammo buy the case you are doing it wrong.... When ammo is cheap I guess I should say. If you are buying ammo right now, you are also doing it wrong....

2
WhitePowerRanger 2 points ago +2 / -0

Seriously, if I’m not ordering quad digits, it’s a waste of money. I have 5 thousand 9mm rounds I probably paid less than 700$ total for

2
deleted 2 points ago +4 / -2
12
Gunmolester 12 points ago +12 / -0

Im sorry but 50 cents a rd for steel case 9mm and high shipping is not cheap

2
deleted 2 points ago +2 / -0
2
Gunmolester 2 points ago +2 / -0

its a classic move to make prices higher....raise it way high for a bit then lower it down 50% then people are happy its "cheap again"...I never fall for it...i wont be buying any ammo till the prices are back to normal or normal with a reasonable rise for inflation ...then i will buy when its on special

2
tdavis25 2 points ago +2 / -0

This. I want my sub $200 case of 9mm back

3
Mavdick96 3 points ago +3 / -0

Yeah Ammo Seek helped me get 1000 rounds of 9mm for $300 back in July. I'm glad I bought it then because it's ludicrous now.

1

Insane how expensive 9mm has gotten. Rioting liberals are the greatest firearms/ammo salesmen in the country.

I’m to the point that I can’t shoot anymore. I need to either start reloading my own or fine a supply. Any pointers?

5
Forgotmyname 5 points ago +5 / -0

Edit: can’t practice with 9mm. Stash is not high enough to waste any.

6
Djpele12 [S] 6 points ago +6 / -0

I have over 10 different website tabs open and constantly refresh throughout the day looking for new inventory. They're out there, just takes time.

Ya I'm very hesitant to shoot what I have....I don't need the practice but I just like shooting

4
AgentBJ09 4 points ago +4 / -0

This is why I'm glad I got at least one .22 gun. If there's an itch to scratch, that'll do it.

As for 9mm, aside from setting sales alerts on web stores and checking brick-and-mortar stores as soon as they open, there's not much we can do for direct purchases. Demand is insane these days.

4
Forgotmyname 4 points ago +4 / -0

I had a Walther p22. I wrecked and was incapacitated. When I got my vehicle back it was gone. I’ve had no luck finding it. I’m sure one of those wonderful first responders is enjoying it now.

1
AgentBJ09 1 point ago +1 / -0

I'm guessing you brought a complaint against them to see who took it, or at least filled out a police report?

(Mine's a Ruger Wrangler. Wheelguns are among my favorites.)

1
Forgotmyname 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yeah I did. It happened last year and all I’ve heard from them is that a passerby must have taken it. Only thing is there was no body who came by. The tow truck owner is a good friend of mine and I’m certain he didn’t take it. He told me he never even got inside

2
AgentBJ09 2 points ago +2 / -0

sigh

Yeah, that sounds like a first responder took it. Never would've called that with them.

2
HiddenDekuScrub 2 points ago +2 / -0

What's the deal with the .22 guns? I've been told they're mostly for practice and that you won't do much damage with one. (And that this is why they're seemingly in stock everywhere...)

2
AgentBJ09 2 points ago +2 / -0

That's somewhat true. They will do some damage, no question, if you hit the right spot like the chest and abdomen. In terms of pure stopping power however, .22 is not that great. At least a 9mm or .380 for that.

(If you're using subsonic rounds, like the ones I use most for my Wrangler, then yes, plinking and varmint hunting is all you can really do. I'd watch for copper jacket rounds rated to at least 40 grain/1200 FPS if you want okay stopping power, though there are hollow points you can buy for LR and magnum variants.)

That said, Ruger and many other companies like Beretta are making models of some of their guns chambered for .22, so even if they don't do much damage per bullet, you can load up a lot of rounds in one magazine compared to a 9mm or .380. And bricks are cheap, about 6 to 9 dollars for 50 or so.

Can anyone tell me the best way to sell ammo? I have some 9mm but it's steel case. Range won't let me shoot it, brass only.

4
ManBadOrange 4 points ago +4 / -0

I'm sitting on about 650 rds atm . Want to get north of 1000 before I start plinking , and stay at the 1000 threshold as reserve. If prices get back to semi normal then that number becomes 5000

You son of a bitch! This is the second Sunday gunday that I have to remind you guys to put the damned nsfw filter on. This ammo porn is causing me to have to put the Bible on my lap during church so no one notices my freedom boner.

Maybe I should stop browsing TD.win while at church but that seems like a very boring hour of life wasted.

1
when_we_win_remember 1 point ago +2 / -1

Ironically 9mm pistols seem to be available (at Cabela's that I checked) while 9mm ammo can't be found. 45 ACP seems to be obtainable, so I'm trying to get a pistol chambered that way, but they're scarce.

1
Tomato 1 point ago +1 / -0

Since we are on the topic of ammo, is RIP 9mm ammo any good for a glock for self defense? https://www.sportsmansguide.com/product/index/g2-research-rip-9mm-schp-92-grain-20-rounds?a=1815473

1
YUUUUGETURDS 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yes, it just won't penetrate through cars. Thus the reason .40 cal was invented because the FBI got their asses handed to them in a fire fight and the nerds who work there can't handle .45 acp.

The reason I keep my FNS .40 is because everyone loves 9mm or .45 and I'm over here swimming in. 40.

1
Gonzotron5000 1 point ago +1 / -0

Being a gun newb I bought 9mm because everyone said law enforcement uses it so its alway gonna be plentiful. Well I think that's exactly the reason we don't have any is that law enforcement and everyone else is buying the most popular calibur for the last 100 years.

1
mickusa1 1 point ago +1 / -0

And that fine weapon can easily fire every bit of that without a single failure-

1
AngryWriter 1 point ago +1 / -0

That looks like it might be fully-semi automatic ammo designed to work in extra-high capacity magazine clips. Why does anyone need that just to hunt rabbits?
