We need to fill it before November so that there's less chance of funny business if the SC needs to get involved in the election results.

48 days to election day; confirm Ted or Amy posthaste!

slangin_paint 6 points ago +6 / -0

Zodiac Killer will have to wait. We need his vote in the Senate to confirm the nominee.

3
Konsaki 3 points ago +3 / -0

He doesn't vacate his senate seat until he's confirmed for justice, though, unless I'm missing something. So, he can vote for himself into the seat, just like Trump will vote for himself this Nov.

I think it needs to be filled prior as well, simply to deny them the ability to fight for the seat and rile up their base to vote.

After what she did to our country while alive, I am more motivated than ever to make sure her dying wish never happens.

This is the only correct response. Don't bother arguing whether it's a lie or whatever, you're just validating their ridiculous premise that her wishes have any legal bearing.

Chawlns 2 points ago +2 / -0

She knew the rules better than anyone and so does Obama. The only thing they’re accomplishing with this lie is dividing the country even further and it’s fucked up. Of course Trump will pick someone before the election and the Democrats will too. This is how our republic works.

DrAugustBalls 2 points ago +2 / -0

Exactly.

It’s entirely possible that she said it. It wouldn’t surprise me in the least. And the people who are saying it’s fake have no more evidence than the people who think it’s legit.

But it doesn’t matter. Our government policy and decisions aren’t dictated by one person’s dying wishes.

Anti-2A; legislated/protected baby murder; anti Christianity; open/no borders; legislated/protected social perverts; big federal government; anti-police; anti-personal responsibility; and on and on.

The damage done to this country by this ONE bitch may well be irreversible.

Whether it's real or a lie, it's IRRELEVANT! Is anyone seriously suggesting that her supposed "wish" is anything to place credence into and follow along with?

9
RexCollumSilvarum [S] 9 points ago +9 / -0

That too. She can "wish" for whatever she likes; she doesn't get to override the law of the land.

But we all know that the Dems run on emotion ("A woman is crying; quick, shred the Constitution!") so we need to debunk this lie long and loud.

5
slangin_paint 5 points ago +5 / -0

Personally I don't think it needs debunking. We are past the point where we should be concerning ourselves with the irrational tantrums of a bunch of lying, childish communists. They are full of shit and will do anything they can to get power, including cheating and stealing. Any engagement is pointless because they are disingenuous. You really think the Left cares about RGB's dying wishes? What if that bitch said "my dying wish is to heal the country and the Left to bury the hatchet and get along with Trump"? You think they would respect that? No, obviously not. They are just using a dead old woman as a prop, trying to squeeze every last political point out of that corpse.

3
redditcansuckme 3 points ago +3 / -0

It's not a wish Trump even could grant. Rememeber, she didn't ask that it be decided after the election, she supposedly asked for another president.

So what happens if Trump is reelected? Is he supposed to just sit and allow a Supreme Court spot sit idle for the next four years, just so he could grant the dying wish of the previous holder? Bullshit. That would be pointless and irresponsible.

9
RexCollumSilvarum [S] 9 points ago +9 / -0

I'm left wondering what the dying wish of the last SC justice to die was. Probably, "Please get that pillow off my face; I can't breathe!"

5
fjobb 5 points ago +5 / -0

It just simply does not matter what her wish was in this case, true or not. Of course an obviously liberal justice would rather another liberal justice be nominated to replace them then a more conservative one.

4
kag-2020- 4 points ago +4 / -0

It would be outrageously insulting to our Constitution if it was true, but then again, all her rulings were too.

4
CT_MAGA 4 points ago +4 / -0

Fuck her and fuck her wishes. She never said this lol. It's just another lie from the left.

3
SuperDuty4x4 3 points ago +3 / -0

Since when has a statement being a lie stopped the left and their media propagandists? They'll keep repeating it, and the rest of us will continue to not care because justices don't get to pick their successors.

3
Triptrop702 3 points ago +3 / -0

If your dying wish has to do with politics, maybe you don’t deserve a dying wish.

Why all these types of posts when 99% of people here don't give a fuck what she wished for?

3
Crusty_Pede 3 points ago +3 / -0

It’s not about believing it... the existence of this dying wish does not change the fact the president still has his powers to appoint justices, the senate has power and directions from the constitution to fill the seat immediately, and the justices do not get to have a say in how their successors are appointed.

Do not give any ground to Dems and tards by arguing the veracity of the dying wish story. The constitution is unwavering and unambiguous for what to do in this situation. Fill the seat!

3
MAG_n_KAG 3 points ago +3 / -0

The correct answer to her "dying wish" is, "who gives a shit?"

3
VoteCyborgTrump2040 3 points ago +3 / -0

No reason to stop the lie in its tracks. Her dying wish is meaningless. She has absolutely no say in who gets to replace her on the SC. We don't make SC appointments based on the whims of a dying justice.

3
ModernKnight 3 points ago +3 / -0

Even if it was true, it only deserves ridicule.

mack 3 points ago +3 / -0

Just ignoring it as immaterial and not even acknowleging it a place in the discussion is the way to deal with it. Doesn't matter if it's true or a lie. And getting into whether it is true or a lie cedes it a place in the discussion and gives the basic idea a legitimacy that it should not have. IT DOES NOT MATTER WHAT SHE WISHED REGARDING FILLING HER VACANCY. So the best response is to say, "Well that's nice, but it's not material to filling the vacancy on the court."

3
Aluminoti 3 points ago +3 / -0

She didn't care about the last wishes of babies being sucked out of the womb. Fuck her and her dying wish.

If true, her dying wish was to go against constitutional standards and be a hypocrite, so... it checks out.

2
Joe_Btfsplk 2 points ago +2 / -0

Did she say that before they put her on a ventilator or did she use sign language.

2
cbonez416 2 points ago +2 / -0

100% bullshit.

2
Staatssicherheit 2 points ago +3 / -1

And if this really was among Ginsburg’s dying words, it would be incredibly sad for a person to have their life’s work boiled down to some petty “wish."

Why is that so hard to believe? It's disturbing how many people here have this much respect for Ginsburg. She is petty. She is selfish. This is completely in line with her character.

2
Ktt8404 2 points ago +2 / -0

Exactly. She stayed in the seat until the end, if she truly cared for her cause she would have vacated during Obama’s train wreck admin and been replaced with RBGv.2.0.

2
Ktt8404 2 points ago +2 / -0

Lie or not it is irrelevant. She doesn’t get to make a determination on who fills her seat or when. Just because she sat in it doesn’t make her some supreme royalty or some shit that gets to choose their successor.

2
TrumpsBigBalls 2 points ago +2 / -0

It's such bullshit....no one and I repeat no one, who is dying from cancer is going to be awake right before dying let alone coherent enough to talk politics. It's not like you're all healthy and then boom dead....the cancer spreads and literally eats away at your body and REALLY FAST at the end. Combined with not eating real foods they are shriveled versions of themselves of which she already was half way there. Now add the lovely hospice cocktails of delaudid, xanax, and other delicious pharma..... THIS DID NOT HAPPEN..... even if it did..... FUCK YOUR FEELINGS!

2
bennybloom 2 points ago +2 / -0

Even if it wasn’t a lie, who gives a shit. Supreme Court justices do not get to say what happens to their seat once they vacate it. Sorry RBG.

Irrelevant. Desire has no place in the interpretation of law.

"It must have gotten a lot easier to become a doctor." LOL, yep. Some employee was asking advice on getting a doctorate, and I asked how long it would take, among other things. Answer? 3 years. 3 years of a couple of classes per semester and a paper judged by people with 3 year degrees. PhD is just another MA in many fields. Sad, because it will diminish the respect of brilliant people who put many years into novel research.

And it is meaningless. There is an established procedure for the seating of a new SC justice. The desires of a dying Justice is not part of the procedures

2
ivymike 2 points ago +2 / -0

I wasn’t aware a dying wish was in the constitution.

2
OK_Citizen 2 points ago +2 / -0

It doesn’t matter if it’s a lie (it is), it has no bearing on the President can and should do. Its not her seat, it’s the voters seat. Elections have consequences.

2
Greatest_adventure 2 points ago +2 / -0

Feelings are irrelevant to the LAW governing how and when a SC justice may be instated. Social mafia trauma drama does not govern this country.

2
MythArcana 2 points ago +2 / -0

The woman is dead and she's still a pain in the ass.

2
darkliz 2 points ago +2 / -0

Even if it wasn’t a lie, who gives a shit? Let’s ram this SCOTUS nomination down their throats

2
SoldierofKek 2 points ago +2 / -0

Even if she did say it, who gives a fuck? I will respect her dying wish with regards to whom she intends to bequeath her kitchen aid mixer. I will not respect her wishes regarding the United States Supreme Court, because it's NOT HER'S! It's ours! The American people's. You cannot bequeath a Supreme Court Justice seat to anyone. You're fucking worm food now! We'll see to it that your mixer gets to little Susie, we'll sell your house and give it to bull dyke lesbians for 3rd trimester abortions, but regarding your old job, eat a bag of freedom dicks!

2
Camel-Toe-Harris 2 points ago +2 / -0

It doesn’t matter if she signed a document, had it witnessed and notarized. That’s not how it works.

2
BlinkinSun 2 points ago +2 / -0

The most damning bit of information here is that her wish is for a new president to pick the next justice, not to hold the vote until after the election.

So the Supreme Court should have eight justices for five more years while we wait for an election which democrats actually have a shot of winning? Who the fuck is she to make that kind of demand?

2
GoUSA 2 points ago +2 / -0

There is nothing that needs to be stopped. Wishes mean literally nothing, and don't even deserve a response.

1
GrabLifeByThePussy 1 point ago +1 / -0

I don't care about disproving. She could have live streamed it on YouTube and had a handwritten and signed letter notarized. The issue isn't whether or not she had a final wish or what it was. The issue is either way TOUGH SHIT. It doesn't matter.

This is the problem with the right, it's horrible tactics.

We do/did it with racism too (getting better now thank God). Lefty insinuated a Republican is racist. Republican stammers on about how sorry they are and that's not what they meant and explain ad nauseum how they have black friends, and they voted for this and that, and muh double standard.

This is how you fight that type of attack... You say "I'm not a racist. Fuck you" and continue on about your business as if they never said it. The second you spend time trying to rebut a bullshit argument you actually give it credibility.

So let's practice this, everyone. Here are some examples to take home and study.

"You're a racist" Wrong response: well it was Democrats who started the KKK blah blah history lesson now everyone's bored and either not paying attention or laughing at you Right response: No I'm not, fuck you. As I was saying...

"You don't care about the poor!" Wrong response: w w w well I d d d do b b b but we have to have a ... BUZZ! NO ONE CARES. Correct response: yeah I do. YOU don't care about the poor.

"A few years ago Mitch Mcconnell said we should appoint a new justice during blah blah" Wrong answer: anything trying to explain away a double standard Right answer: Yeah, he did and it worked because it kept Garland out of the scotus and now we're going to fuck you good and ram a justice into the scotus double standard or not. Fuck you, we win.

Don't apologise for your views. Don't apologize for winning. Don't impose rules on yourself they don't impose on themselves. Don't sabotage your own point. Back stab these cocksuckers. Insult them. Demoralize them. Mock them. Call them what they call you. And YES, kick them whole they are down. That's the best time to kick a man. Take every advantage you can, fair or not, because if the shoe was on the other foot they'd show you no mercy.

They will not hesitate to dox you, deplatform you, demonize you, get you fired, divorced, evicted, robbed, attacked or even murdered. They do NOT CARE. So Don't give two squirts of piss about their opinion. Their opinion is worth jack s***. Play to win And don't feel bad when you have won. rub it in their f****** faces and demoralize them. The art of war. You can your enemy to lay down their arms before the fight, you've already won.

1
Slothboy 1 point ago +1 / -0

Who cares if it's a lie or not? I don't care if she wished for a pony and a bottle of Jack or for orange man to get sent to the moon. It doesn't matter if she had a dying wish, because it has nothing to do with picking a new justice.

Let them have the lie, because it's easy to dismiss.

"That's nice but it doesn't change anything." That's it. The end.
