It’s a bulldot laser. The dot grows the further out you point it, so it makes for quick and easy target acquisition. Yes, they recommend to fire from the hip but you can def aim down the sights once you get the hang of the recoil. The recoil isn’t as bad as you’d expect with buckshot and even slugs. I’d recommend it. It comes with a 10 round mag, and I decided to scoop up the 20 rounder after seeing how ridiculous it was.
When the shit hits the fan in minecraft, you can take that bird's head grip off and put a real stock on there. But only in minecraft, don't do it irl or the ATF will kill your dog.
unless you can stiffen your arm like steel and counter the recoil in the short distance you would need to for looking down the sight..it just makes no sense
Unfortunately, these only work with the standard 2-3/4 12GA shot shells. Plus side is you can get up to a 20 round mag as pictured. You can definitely use mini mags with the standard tube fed Shockwave though.
I just looked it up and you can buy an aftermarket attachment to make the shockwave accept mini shells! It'll hold 10 mini slugs which makes it a great consideration for home defense.
It's a poor choice for home defense regardless. You'd be infinitely better off with a shotgun with a stock. Three points of contact, quicker on target, highly intuitive, etc. There's a lot of good gun videos online that back this up.
And if you live in such ridiculously tight quarters that it can't be a long gun (doubtful) even a pistol or revolver would be a better option in everything but foot lbs of energy - which is nowhere near as important as shot placement.
With a laser, hip fire is extremely practical. It's better than a standard shotgun with a stock if you live a in a smaller apartment. It's better for CQB and more portable for vehicles/trucks. It seems like a gimmick gun at first glance, but it can be an effective tool.
I have to couple 2 ten round mags together on the bottom for a total of 20 rounds. The part to do that is about as expensive as a ten round mag. This is my best (legal) option This IS something I'm excited about. This is what California does to reasonable people. What have i become. Sick gun though!
In my opinion, I’d say they’re pretty practical depending on your use case. It’s surprisingly comfortable to shoot. I think for home defense and range shooting, it’s fantastic.
The angle of the grip actually makes them practical. It directs the force in a way that doesn't kill your hand. A true pistol grip would direct all of the force into the webbing of your thumb.
20 rounds for this mag pictured.(It comes with a 10 round mag) Its legal except in California, New York and New Jersey. When I bought the gun last year, Buds Gun Shop had it for $300. 20 round mag was around $80. Bulldot laser is $90 and Raptor F1 forend upgrade was $40. Now with the gun shortage, I’ve seen it go up to around $1000 for the gun, which is pretty crazy. I would suggest waiting until after the election when things die down a bit and more are in stock.
It's amazing, wow wow wow. I'm always looking for a good compact shotgun with a high capacity and yours literally encapsulates every element iv wanted. Hats off to you sir.
The Shockwave variants of the Mossberg 590 has a 15in barrel so in order to keep it legal, they used the bird grip instead of a stock. The ATF doesn’t consider it a shotgun, rifle or pistol so it’s legally considered a 12 gauge firearm. It even comes with approval papers in the box from the ATF.
Not at all. Yeah, it’s gonna be a lot more felt recoil than most guns out there, but with proper push pull technique with good grip, it’s very manageable. I was shooting it today from the hip and anything I point the laser at, it hits.
Alright ill have to check one out one of these days. Im in WA state so we dont have many (none i know of but there might be some) places to try guns before we buy so im always worried about buying something that wont work out and not being able to return it.
When the mag length exceeds the barrel length 👌
Dem "common sense gun control" be like..."I don't know why, but this seems illegal!"

shucks and jives back to the riot

I mean, I would not describe this gun as a display of common sense.
But rights are only rights if you can keep doing them even when other people think you're not being sensible.
The only gun that abides common sense to a liberal is one in the hands of the state!
If a liberal had common sense, they wouldn't be a liberal.
not quite its bit shorter.
For when you run out of ammo you can throw it and it comes back to you. Does it have bluetooth?
Is that on optic on top?
Isn't this more of a hip fire weapon? I was surprised it has a front sight from the factory.
Very curious as this is most likely our next purchase.

The bulldot is sweet. I have it on my 590. By itself it’s a deterrent.
Thanks!
TIL about bulldot lasers.
I can see how those would be extremely helpful on a hip fire weapon.
Ridiculous indeed!
We all want one now!
I have been looking for one! Link please?
lol first person to use that red dot in a fucking home defense will blind themselves
What would make that happen? Training can't overcome the problem?
unless you can stiffen your arm like steel and counter the recoil in the short distance you would need to for looking down the sight..it just makes no sense
Agreed, on a bull pup?
I think the Keltec KSG 25 would be better. Probably worth the grand price tag.
a bull pup? i mean th ere is no stock, all you have to dampen the recoil is your grip
Eh, all y'all's right. Didn't look at the trigger location close, just the short stock.
this aint a bullpup had to go look at the p ost again lol its just a shotgun with a mag
It's not a red-dot, it's a laser.
That makes far more sense
Exactly my thoughts when I saw the 20 round mag for the first time.
Short Barrel = -5 accuracy
Red Dot = + 5 accuracy
Pistol grip = + 5 hip fire, + 5 movement
Extended mag = -5 hip fire, - 5 movement
Perfectly balanced Pede, as all things should.
You forgot +5 "doubt"
Tagged as Thanos.
But seriously I miss being able to tag accounts. Can some knowledgeable pede please make a dot-win enhancement suite?
I don’t know why gun and gun accessory company’s don’t use this tried and true rating system to rate their products.
It's a laser, not a red-dot.
holy shit this is glorious! how many COMMI-19 vaccinations can you fit in that syringe?
Thanks! This particular syringe can accept 20 doses.
If they line up perfectly, one dose can innoculate 3 people! Sharing is caring!
Plus one??
When are you adding the chainsaw attachment?
Right after my steel spike attachment comes in the mail.
I bought the od green set and chrome spike last night. Can't wait!
that's a boom stick
My hand hurts just looking at this.
Lol! The recoil isn’t as bad as you’d expect. Once you get a few shots of to gauge the recoil, you can even aim down with the bead sight.
3" full power OO buck is a handful though. Never tried 3" slugs in it.
Looks well balanced. LMAO.
More like "Wrong city block motherfucker"
I don't know what this is but I'll take 5
Crowd pleaser!
Yes, please to be moving the crowd the fuck away from my house, please
I wonder how many mini slugs these shotguns can hold, and if they work well with them.

OPs setup is sexy. I want a shockwave!

These shotguns are fun range toys.

can confirm. own shockwave, mini slugs and attachment. i think theres a youtube video of a guys daughter firing with minislugs also
is she hot? (and 18+)?
This one is mag fed so still 10+1 if they work in it.
only conceivable upgrade would be a bayonet or Bowie knife on top...somehow...
george foreman grill?
and it can shoot the knife out. which then explodes by remote detonation button on the gun
No sharks with lasers on their head?
Tasty!

Jesus Christ, it's a monstrosity. 😂
Nice notshottie!
Interesting....I want to shoot it
Lol I’d just use that to beat the fuck out of whoever came to my house.
Lol wtf is that? It's beautiful
Lol! Thanks! It’s a Mossberg 590m Shockwave.
Beautiful
Looks cool, but are those grips really practical to shoot with?
Genuinely asking as I have only fired one with a stock.
In my opinion, I’d say they’re pretty practical depending on your use case. It’s surprisingly comfortable to shoot. I think for home defense and range shooting, it’s fantastic.
Fair enough!
The angle of the grip actually makes them practical. It directs the force in a way that doesn't kill your hand. A true pistol grip would direct all of the force into the webbing of your thumb.
Mag Capacity? Is it legal? How much did it cost? Looks Amazing 😍😍😍😍

I hope to never meet you in a dark alley.
It's not sawed off. Instead of having a shoulder stock, it has a "bird head" grip, which shortens the overall length.
Looks like it can be used as a boomerang when you're out of shells.
Is this one of those AR-14’s?!!!!!
ID on pump?
It’s a Shockwave Industries Raptor F1 Forend. Same company that makes the bird grip for these things.
Wow, love this, It’s crazy but yet necessary.
I like this a lot
"Eat this."
aren't these mosses just considered "firearms" like its not a shotgun nor a rifle due to the size
Correct, it’s considered a 12 gauge firearm.
Is that thing both a tube magazine and that big-ass detachable one together?
The tube doesn’t actually hold any shells. Only the magazine holds the shells and you can of course detach that and pop on a different magazine.
That is ridiculous.
How do I get it?
How hard is it to control those shotguns with the handles like that?
I feel like those would fly out of my hands like in the fail videos 😂
Not at all. Yeah, it’s gonna be a lot more felt recoil than most guns out there, but with proper push pull technique with good grip, it’s very manageable. I was shooting it today from the hip and anything I point the laser at, it hits.

Where does the bayonet go?
They make adjustable 🅱istol braces for them too!
That'd scare me if it was pointed my way!
I've seen on YouTube where they've installed a AR15 style pistol grip and forearm brace, makes for a much more controllable firearm.
Put a brace on that thing and have the SBS of your dreams. Unless you like larping as the terminator...
Holy mother of all boners
No such thing as 'too much ammo'.
