I've been in a jury pool. You can be in one fairly easy, go down to the courts and tell them you want to be seated, they will fast track you.

I had a murder case, too - was fucked because my then boss was refusing to pay for my time away, and the judge was saying it was gonna be 6 weeks at least. Got sent out of county because too many in the jury pool were aware of the case.

I've been polled, too. I also got hit with a bunch of census shit this year - not the main one, but a lot of "extra" census they're doing. Just my turn.

You can literally volunteer to be a member of the jury.

They only summon people because essentially no one volunteers.

I plan to do a bit of that once I retire.

I know a lot of people talk about using Jury Nullification to get off the jury but I think that is exactly the reason to BE on the jury.

If I was to be on Kyle's jury he would be found innocent regardless of the charges the tyrannical state government put up on him.

I think that varies by state. In states I'm familiar with, there is no volunteer process because it wouldn't be random. Everybody gets summoned periodically and you can get excused for a variety of reasons.

Thank you for your service.

Part of the reason Hollywood makes so many jokes about getting out of jury duty is because they want to undermine our judicial system and our country so they can get away with more crimes.

Most lawyers will try to strike out a jury pool member who's too eager
