Hey man i don’t live in a free state. That thing i see in the picture may as well be an alien fucking weapon lol. I’m in NJ. We need a license to buy BB guns and slingshots. To me, that’s a lotta exposed buffer lol
One of the best "backpacking " guns you can get. Pushes 9mm standard loads to close to 357 magnum velocity ( 10 inches is about the max barrel you want for a 9mm before it actually starts losing velocity again), and it folds up smaller than an ar9 pistol. Only problem is it can get hot due to the polymer forend. I have the g19 model that has the slightly shorter magwell so it can take the 10 and 15 round mags all the way up to the 33 rounders and drums. With the g17 model, the magwell is too long for anything shorter than 17 round mags.
Bought it new for $350 new pre corona in black, it's totally worth it.
I'm not even a fan of pistol caliber carbines but this has always caught my interest. Just so handy. Played with once. Definitely a stay strapped in your backpack piece.
Yeah, it's like a pistol magwell. So if you get the longer one, you can't use the shorter mags unless you modify it. Unless you have xxxl hands, the slightly shorter grip still provides enough purchase to fire, and it gives you the benefit of more compatibility since you can now use the g19 mags and the Ban state compact 10 rounders.
Wow two sub2ks on the front page! Lol like I told the other guy look up MCarbo and pick up the stainless steel feed ramp to replace the plastic one. You can go crazy on afternarkets and turn the thing into the race gun that the Keltec team uses but at bare minimum the feed ramp needs replaced if you’re using it for self defense.
To me, it feels like the plastic is bending during the pull. It doesn't really 'break'... The hammer just eventually scrapes off the sear, and then finally boom. It's my only polymer gun, and I think that's part of it too.
All that said, I haven't replaced it, because as you say, it goes bang. Also hard to spend half the gun's price on a trigger upgrade because I'm being a little bitch.
Sub-2000’s are fucking awesome, even the first gen’s that need some after market upgrades, but the new ones have all that and I think threaded barrel is even standard.
Good find. I was led to believe that Kel-Tec didn't actually sell guns to people, just magazines and review web sites with how scarce some of their cooler toys are.
9mm is hard to find right now. If you're near an Academy they'll have some for an hour, maybe less, after opening on ammo truck days. Around here that's Thursdays and Fridays. I couldn't say if that's a national schedule though.
Such a great gun. I've been told by many people, that a 9mm has no place being shot anything past 10 meters. I say, if you can hit someone in the head at 50 meters with it, use it. Ignore what anybody else says.
Those kind of statements always make me chuckle. If we could all walk around with full auto, 5.56's, didn't need to worry about concealment, costs and the ability of the shooter to handle the firearm, than why not?
However, many extenuating circumstances come into play well before the caliber of the weapon or even the weapon itself. Let me put it this way, would any of those naysayers take a 22 short, single shot weapon if it was the only practical option they had? Would they take a pocket knife? I sure as hell would.
You're 100% correct, the Sub2000 is a great option for many reasons! I can nail steel at 100 yards out of the box and it's the perfect gun for your vehicle stash and backpack.
I've been curious about some kel techs. I already have a glock and Ruger pcc with glock magwell, so this would fit all the ammo amd mags I have already lol
Know your target and what's behind it.
Finger off the trigger until you acquire your target.
Safety is a mechanical device that can fail, the safety is between your ears.
Always keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction. If there is an accidental discharge the results are far less drastic and costly.
Get thee trained so that you can hit what you aim at and are not a menace to society...hehehe.
Good luck pede.
Very nice. I was looking to get one of those or the Beretta cx4 but I couldn't find any being sold anywhere. They were all bought up. May have to give it another look.
That's a nice one! I would love to get one of those for the wife. She loves lightweight and minimal recoil, finds our AR a bit too heavy. And that model seemed perfect for her.
Yeah Iv had other people say to get the stainless steel feed ramp. I’ll look into the metal bushing tho for sure. If it does slip, is it just the next trigger pull where it wont catch, then once released it will slide back in? Or is it slips will I have to go in and manually fix it?
Thanks for the help. Like I said, it’s my first gun and although Iv shot plenty of guns, I’m still pretty green.
Good to know. Since posting this Iv been looking at the different upgrades on the mcarbo site. There are a number of little upgrades, mostly switching out the plastic pieces, that seem fairly easy and cheap. I’m just nervous taking the gun apart, but I’m gonna need to learn at some point.

Look at that tube. No problems there. Believe me.
It’s a meme dude. That’s a long buffer tube. I’m comparing it to male genitalia. And quoting trump. And now I’ve explained the joke.
We explain the best jokes, don't we folks!

Lol yes that’s the one.
Is my joke funny now?? 😂
It's weird that I knew EXACTLY who you were describing at "wet dog shit"
I won’t give you crap for the joke you made, but I will give you crap for your user name. The Red Power Ranger as always the best.
I'm not even a fan of pistol caliber carbines but this has always caught my interest. Just so handy. Played with once. Definitely a stay strapped in your backpack piece.

Yes, in the grip
Did it come with all those mags!?
The guy I bought it from threw them in there with the gun, thankfully.
You got lucky!
gunmagwarehouse . com has kci 32 rd glock mags for about 14 bucks. Save some for me though, I get a few every paycheck
Nice!
Thanks
Stickied!?! No way, I don’t believe it. Thanks mods!
Xtra mags AND a sticky?? The gods are on your side today pede! Happy Sunday Gunday!!
Haha I know! It feels like Christmas!

Very nice, pede - and love the username, too. Moby Dick is a treasure of a book.
He was referencing the book. Just ask his girlfriend!!
Note to self: New dick name; “Moby”
Thanks pede. Took me long enough but figured it was time to finally pull the trigger...😏
Now you have a decision... Replace that mushy trigger with the mcarbo unit, or put that money towards a second freedom dispenser.

That'll get the job done just fine. Welcome to Gun Ownership! A serious responsibility, and wonderful and patriotic pastime.

Mcarbo is the site. They make all the good aftermarket parts for your sub!
Awesome. I’ll have to check it out.
MCarbo heavy charging handle makes a big difference in recoil. Their trigger is good and the aluminum trigger housing is worth it too
Sub-2000’s are fucking awesome, even the first gen’s that need some after market upgrades, but the new ones have all that and I think threaded barrel is even standard.
That's awesome! Looking for a 9MM carbine myself!
Good find. I was led to believe that Kel-Tec didn't actually sell guns to people, just magazines and review web sites with how scarce some of their cooler toys are.
Nice kicks cap’n
Hey that's a sweet gun. Congrats!
9mm is hard to find right now. If you're near an Academy they'll have some for an hour, maybe less, after opening on ammo truck days. Around here that's Thursdays and Fridays. I couldn't say if that's a national schedule though.
omg i always wanted sub2000 even now i still want it
Love this carbine. Great choice
I think this may be my next firearm.
Such a great gun. I've been told by many people, that a 9mm has no place being shot anything past 10 meters. I say, if you can hit someone in the head at 50 meters with it, use it. Ignore what anybody else says.

Doesn't fold as compact with a foregrip on. Not sure why Keltec went with pic rails on the gen 2. Gen 1 was fine.
To your username, I have to say:
White whale, holy grail!
If you like heavy music at all, you'll know that reference.
That rifle folds in half! Pretty cool if you ask me!
Welcome aboard!
Great first firearm

Congrats Patriot Pede. I got one for Christmas last year. It's a really fun little banger
P.s. if you're gonna rock af1s tuck your laces. Definitely a southerner.
Haha touché. You got me there.
No prob bro just spreading proper uptowns shoe etiquette.

Love the FDE too, that's my personal fav!
Beautiful choice. Congratulations.
What upgrades did you do? The main complaints Iv heard have been about the trigger.

Y'all should be friends lol
Haha I saw that one shortly after mine. Looks like it’s pede friendly.
Bro get an 80% lower no serial number... just buy the jig set and get to work. No lists, no databases, no background checks.
Nothing crazy lol
I'd feed it a good diet of 124gr federal HST for defensive use.
