It was for getting the app or their browser from the Chrome store or something similar. Got a bit annoying for me after a while but you don't get it using that address.
Google has screwed with their algorithm so much, it is becoming a second rate search engine. It is the only product I know of that is substantially worse than it was 10 years ago. Not just on the political front, I used to use it to help with tech support questions, now it just sends you to software company websites that never have the correct answer.
The problem is, underneath it all they're an advertising company. They've 'fine-tuned' their algorithms over the years to weight companies that pay them. It's become like calling a telemarketer and asking for real information.
Won't matter. It's all coming down around them. The summer of 2016 was when I realized it was over for these bastards. Trump's election was the beginning of the end for the globalist establishment...and they know it.
