Here’s the biggest thing people tend to forget when it comes to the Old Testament is that it is the whole sum of the Israel nation, it’s religion, laws, history, culture, music and poems. People arguing against the Bible generally don’t look that far and grab some law that the Israelites probably made themselves or misinterpret some song or poem. Or even just take a section out of context to the rest of the story or chapter. It’s the main reason the New Testament is looked at more because it’s the recorded history of Jesus and his teachings and how the church should act.
That's because the Old Testament was rendered null and void as a book of law when Christ died. You can't go pick and choose pieces of the old testament to post on the internet while ignoring the other 80% of law that doesn't jive with your modern lifestyle.
I mean, I always just go back to the Old Testament with that bit about pouring molten gold down the throats of bad people.

The New Testament is Christianity. The Old Testament is Judaism.
No matter which way you slice this is (a wee bit oversimplified) truth.
It’s more the people who say “believe the whole Bible as the perfect word of God” who I’m talking about.
