I think there's a bit of a false dichotomy going on here. The idea is that we don't have to "celebrate" per se. You can be glad that the supreme court is moving more conservative without necessarily celebrating the end of a life.
I think the biggest takeaway is just that we can't let hate consume us, even if you believe it is justified. Because the act of hate, no matter the reasoning behind it, is what separates us from God
Whoever says he is in the light and hates his brother is still in darkness.
God loves, Satan hates. This is established over and over during Jesus' ministry and cemented and when jesus does not even hate his captors.
Remember Peter cut off the ear of one of the Roman guards, and Jesus healed him. This is Jesus rejecting the notion that we can match evil/hatred with equal hatred
I do have a theological background (Catholic catechist study since childhood all the way through university). But I also have my own personal opinions. I should clarify I'm not expressing any of this as if it's from authority. Just my personal opinion/interpretation.
I also personally believe that the bible shouldn't be beholden to authority, unequivocally. I think that theological authority is important to give a good framework to teachings & faith, but I also think that anything not specifically laid out in your religions canon, is up to interpretation.
I think when Jesus came he associated with the tax collectors & sinners instead of the high priests for a reason. I can't fully articulate it but to me it's Jesus saying that it's more important to believe in him and follow him than to be in the hierarchy of religion (not to say religious leaders aren't important, just that Jesus sought out the laypeople for a reason).
So I don't speak on any authority. I speak what I think is the truth through my experience in life & with my faith & study. I don't really have testimony either. Other than I believe in God and like all of us, just try to understand him more.

I strongly disagree with that. Sin separates us from God.
Hatred of evil isn't sinful.
Sin is the manifestation of hate

I reject your interpretation for many reasons, number one being that I don't trust your ability nor recognize your authority to interpret Scripture.
Mind sharing your testimony with us before we go further?
