There are healthy ways to express yourself through your appearance.
For example, being clean and well groomed in appropriate and well-cared for clothing is a way to express that you have respect for yourself and others. It also reflects that you are a thoughtful person whose personality comes from your true personality, not a costume designed to force others to see you as the character you wish you were.
Or a sassy hat. Nice shoes, Belt, necklaces... it's like these girls think there is no way to express your individuality and still look nice. Have they not seen women pre 1965?
