Yes, he decided to back out of the second election due to his unpopularity. He could have served more than 8 years (max of 10 in this story of situationl.
In a governor's case you can. When Manchin went to the senate he left 2 years of his governorship to his second, Tomlin. Tomlin then served 2 full terms after elections in addition to the 2 years he filled the seat.
No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of President more than once.
If Pence were to die, Trump would be President. Since he has already been President for eight years, he would not be eligible. Biden has never been President. He could not pick Obama for his VP as Obama is no longer eligible to be President if Biden were to die. See how it works?
You made me curious, so I looked up the Amendment:
Section 1. No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once. But this Article shall not apply to any person holding the office of President when this Article was proposed by the Congress, and shall not prevent any person who may be holding the office of President, or acting as President, during the term within which this Article becomes operative from holding the office of President or acting as President during the remainder of such term.
It looks like Trump can be elected as VP on the ticket. And he can even serve as president if the elected president leaves office.
OK, but, if Blumph resigned, and Pence made Killary his VP, then Pence resigned, Killary could be POTUS, right? Anyone else remember the faggot lefties insisting this would be the 'right' thing for Drumph to do since clearly, it was 'her turn'?
Unfortunately, the Supreme Court doesn't take on "what if?" cases, and so there is no way to hear a challenge over this issue without electing a president who chose a VP who has already been president twice, and then the opposition party suing over it. And even then, they probably couldn't meet the "actual case or controversy" rule without the president dying and the VP needing to assume office as president. At which point, the VP-becoming-President would be at the mercy of five unelected lifetime-appointed judges, who may or may not decide to rule based on their own political biases (e.g., "like RBG") or blackmail (ahem) or a textual interpretation ("elected") or an "intent" interpretation (no permanent presidents-for-life like Putin).
Nobody can be nominated for VP that doesn’t qualify for President. If Trump has served 2 terms it makes him ineligible for the Presidency and therefore the vice presidency
A Bigger Fuck You Would Be Not To Vote For A Democrat Ever Again.
Because the 22nd Amendment prevents a President from serving more than two years. And the Vice President must be eligible to serve as President.
then Trump should give a shout out to the LGBTQ folks by marrying Pence, then take control as First Gentleman lmaoooo
Trump could transition! He could be Donna Trump and be the First Lady! It worked for Big Mike.
Big Donna in da house!
This is the answer
You raise an interesting point. Would LBJ have been eligible to run twice?
He closed out JFKs term and won his own reelection in 64. Would he have been permitted to run in 68?
Yes, he decided to back out of the second election due to his unpopularity. He could have served more than 8 years (max of 10 in this story of situationl.
If it is less than half of a term then it doesn’t count as a term. So yes.... LBJ could have run again.
In a governor's case you can. When Manchin went to the senate he left 2 years of his governorship to his second, Tomlin. Tomlin then served 2 full terms after elections in addition to the 2 years he filled the seat.

Yup...and I think Trump will absolutely keep destroying liberals even after he leaves office
TRUMP IS LIFE😎💯
I love this idea!!! We don’t even have to run Pence as President - the point is Trump could be VP for whoever!!!
Trump can't after 8 years.
No. Biden was never the president.

2 terms is the life limit, not consecutive. BUT a Pence (Pres) /Trump (VP) ticket could give us another 8 years of the same team
This is not Russia. The term limit for President is cumulative, not consecutive.
And a VP must be eliglble to be the President, or they cannot be selected.

Actually it looks like the answer is no.
As someone else in this thread just said, the 12th amendment says no one constitutionally ineligible to be president can run for VP.
OK, but, if Blumph resigned, and Pence made Killary his VP, then Pence resigned, Killary could be POTUS, right? Anyone else remember the faggot lefties insisting this would be the 'right' thing for Drumph to do since clearly, it was 'her turn'?
But what happens if something happened to Mike Pence? Trump couldn't be the president again. Would the speaker of the house become president?

That would only work until 2028
Amen!
We wish we could live forever. Sadly they did a lot of ̶e̶l̶d̶e̶r̶l̶y̶ ̶h̶o̶m̶e̶ ballot harvesting recently.
Don't be convinced about party lines. Vote for the right candidate, not just because they have an R.
