Yes

She's weak. Bring on Barbara Lagoa!

10
ODOnRedPill 10 points ago +10 / -0

She's got too much baggage related to big oil. It'll be Lagoa.

2
NYRepublican72 2 points ago +7 / -5

I disagree. She's another Scalia.

3
Covfefefefe19 3 points ago +3 / -0

Exactly right. Scalia was her mentor when she clerked for him. Hillary also had a mentor, and look how much they were alike.

They caught wind of the whole "I will recuse myself from literally anything that matters" shtick.

She's safe for them since on anything that matters.

Give her a lie detector test regarding the oath of office. Should be standard.

There are no real based women he can choose from, he really needs to get Cotton or someone in there, no compromise, no pandering, no identity politics. Let the fucking libs cry more.

Monkey_Scrotum_Fever 8 points ago +8 / -0

Exactly. While I get the sentiment now is not the time to jerk off feelings. We need balls-to-the-wall winners right now and I will always be against token appointments.

The nomination of a judge whom Mr. Trump was quoted last year as “saving” to be Justice Ginsburg’s replacement would almost surely plunge the nation into a bitter and divisive debate over the future of abortion rights,

Correction: The nation HAS been in a bitter and divisive debate over abortion rights for many decades.

I wonder if they are trying to play some 4d chess or if she really is compromised.

Either way, I'm fairly certain Trump will go for Barbara Langoa. She will guarantee Trump victories in many states including Florida and maybe even new Mexico

That is why one must be informed and not outsource their judgement to the media. That is how one can avoid being manipulated. Ignore the media.

She recently ruled that illinois could limits church gatherings and selectively enforce those rules in regards to blm protests. She will side with the state or corporation on just about any issue. No thanks.

The caption under her photo doesn't sound like NYT praise to me. Neither does the headline, or the rest of the story.

"The nomination of Judge Amy Coney Barrett would almost surely plunge the nation into a divisive debate over the future of abortion rights."

She can't be trusted. She isn't reliable.

We need a MAGA pick. Not another swamp creature.

We already wasted a pick on Gorsuch. We can't afford to waste another.

corporate establishment republican pick

don't let all the pics posted of her purty face fool you into thinking otherwise

I figured she might be solid, but after having listened to Rober Barnes discussing her and reading some of her case history, I definitely get the Roberts vibe from her - or perhaps more accurately, the vibe as from a judge who consciously, almost as though it were a diplomatic courtesy, views prosecutors through an idealized lens and who should be given the presumption of honorability (but of course not the defendant who is just your regular flesh and blood mortal, forced to work his or her way up from the initial advantage conferred to the prosecutor).

A conservative (and probably lot more constitutionally informed) version of Amy Berman Jackson might be a more apt description of Barrett.

great.

She’s a Scalia clerk with a pretty solid history of strict constructionism. She won’t be a rubber stamp for Trump, but we don’t want that in a Justice. She would be great.

Red flag

How is Amy on 2A? If this year has taught us anything, it's that the 2A really IS our only defense against Democrat radical terrorism. It's more important than any other issue right now.

Harambe2k 1 point ago +2 / -1

Possibly unlikely scenario. Any chance they are actually doing an honest piece because they know we by default distrust them?

Is it possible that they are trying to get us to sabotage her appointment because so many of us automatically question the Times position on anything.

yallsegregationist 1 point ago +1 / -0

yes, it’s very suspicious.

-3
MAGA_____bitches -3 points ago +3 / -6

they are trying to get Trump to nominate someone else. They are scared of Barrett

4
Sumarongi 4 points ago +4 / -0

Wat? So write a positive puff piece on her?

2
NYRepublican72 2 points ago +3 / -1

That's how the liberal media operates. I'd be very happy with a Barrett nomination. At 48. she'll be on the court for the next 30-35 years.

You also have to realize that calling someone Scalia-like is supposed to be an insult from the left. It's not to Conservatives. We want all judges to rule like Scalia.

Covfefefefe19 1 point ago +1 / -0

The article isn’t that positive, notwithstanding the title. It quotes liberal groups to show she will destroy the ACA and “abortion rights.”
