It is an out of the box move and might be a way of stopping the escalation cycles we have been in since HR nuked the filibuster for appointments back in '13.
Trump lets the leakers "know" he's selecting Garland, talks in public about Garland getting a fair chance and . gets everyone talking about the nomination process. Then he switches it to his real pick and their delay game is shattered.
There's not enough time for that though. This needs to get done now. I'm sure the Democrats are working on some kind of major false flag events to try and side track it.
If Trump picked Garland, the sociopathic leftists would defame Garland beyond belief.
