I understand the idea here, but it's a logistical nightmare thinking about how this would actually work.
How do you know if a TV is purchased for the child to have in his room, for example, or if its being used in the mom's room?
Even if there are approved item lists such as food, clothes, school supplies ect, is still doesnt stop the mom from spending every penny of her own money on whatever she wants since this now pays for the kid.
This reminds me of how planned parent hood claims they dont spend any of the tax money on abortions. Yeah okay, so use use "that money" to pay the rent, and now you have extra cash to spend other places. In the end, it really doesnt make a damn difference.
NOT TO MENTION there is already rampant fraud in the food stamp program, people sell the food stamp money for 50 cents on the dollar for cash so they can go buy drugs or whatever. You telling me this wont happen here?
NOT TO MENTION now there is YET ANOTHER government program that has to be funded to maintain and issue these cards, run the program, vote on acceptable items, on and on and on, that all costs us more money to run.
