I get my kids’ stuff at a used store because they are very physical boys and destroy their stuff quickly. A never-used top brand shirt runs $3-5. Designer jeans are about $6-8. Outerwear is about $10 for raincoats and about $10-15 for ski jackets.
You can clothe a child for the entire school year for just over $100.
Maybe the parents receiving the funds need to keep records to submit for a yearly review. If there’s spending that doesn’t benefit the child, you should be able to file a complaint with the court and have the amount credited back or put against future payments. And there should be penalties for repeated selfish spending.
