I'm betting on Lagoa. Latina child of Cuban immigrants. Let's see the Dems try to Kavanaugh her.

Lagoa’s 14-year tenure as a state and federal judge Lagoa concurred this month in a federal appeals court ruling that is expected to keep many of the 85,000 felons who have registered to vote in Florida from casting ballots. Lagoa also wrote a controversial decision finding that DeSantis had broad executive authority to suspend a county sheriff over his handling of the 2018 shooting in Parkland, Fla. Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., said she is “very pro-life, reliably pro-life.”

Logoa was member of the pro bono legal team representing the Miami relatives of Elián González

Barnes goes on to comment that Barrett is similar to judge Robert's, wealthy family ivy league that really served as an aide to other supreme court judges for political gain, and doesn't really decide like their mentor when on the bench. Know a tool from a leader when nothing is in the way to guide them. Lagoa has done more pro bono work and served as a judge longer than Barrett.

Link Barrett will be harder to confirm, Logoa has more political pluses and nice long record.

  1. She expanded Ron Desantis's executive power to allow him to fired the Sheriff after Parkland. Which means she's A. Not swayed by a bunch of kids getting shot, and B. It means if she's in the Supreme Court, she'll uphold all of Trump's Executive orders DACA style even if he's not president anymore.

  1. She shut down infinite appeals for illegal immigrants allowing them to get deported.

  2. She doesn’t have any paper trail on LGBT issues or Roe vs. Wade that would sabotage her during the nomination process or hurt the Republicans politically. However she’s a serious Catholic and everyone on the Federalist Society loves her which means she very well might be a Trojan horse for those issues.

  1. Going more on this front and this is a Trojan horse aspect of it, Lagoa being Cuban almost certainly identities as White. Her husband isn’t Hispanic but American White and she has three daughters as such. Considering the major court cases over Critical Race Theory, Affirmative Action, and racial politics, she’ll view anti-Whiteness as a threat to her and her family. And unlike regular White people, because she’s Hispanic and a Cuban exile, she won’t have any white guilt holding her back as she takes a tire iron to those anti-White politics issues.

  2. She’s loved by all aspects of Florida Republicans. From the new-Trumpers like Gaetz, hard hitters like DeSantis, the ruthless Florida Republican Party, Rubio, selected by Jeb, she has all aspects of the modern Republican Party behind her. Even further she received 80+ votes to become a Federal Judge and the Bar Association gave her a high rating. This might be a negative but if the Democrats see minority and female, they’ll almost automatically vote yes. She’ll absolutely get 50+ and because she’s a minority woman, she’ll be extremely hard to hit even though she’s RBG’s replacement.

  3. Lastly… this is a curveball here. She was part of Anderson vs. Epstein so she was involved with an Epstein case, and she very well may have reopened an Epstein case in Florida. https://lawandcrime.com/high-profile/circuit-court-of-appeals-orders-rehearing-in-survivors-case-involving-secret-jeffrey-epstein-plea-deal/ https://www.mynews13.com/content/dam/News/static/FL/pdfs/Lagoa-Barbara-Application.pdf

Considering the question marks around the other justices involved the the likelihood of Trump getting more justice options, Lagoa is a slam dunk for the Supreme Court nomination.

  1. 20+ years in the Federalist Society and they all know her and love her.

  2. Cubans vote right wing/Republican at a higher rate than even White people.

  3. Being a Cuban refugee from Castro Communism, would take a hammer to all forms of Socialism and Communism.

  4. She's a vote rigger.

See this article.

https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2020/07/11th-circuit-florida-fines-fees-judicial-ethics.html

On the Florida Supreme Court she stuck it to a million ex-felons by legalizing the "poll tax". Then when she became a federal judge, she actually ended up getting that case on appeal. Instead of recursing herself, she broke all norms and then rammed it through again essentially hammered 1 million voters to secure Florida for the Republicans. This is just what Trump needs for this election. Someone who will "do what needs to be done" by banning all after election day mail in ballots, and then railroading the vote counting process so states under investigation can't certify before December 19th and allow Trump to win on a Contingent election in the House of Representatives.

I like Lagoa, but either is a big improvement from Ginz.

Negatives: She doesn't look particularly healthy and Rubio likes her. I'd still pick her over ACB, unless she has a serious medical condition.

I've heard that Lagoa is out of consideration, as of a few hours ago. Barrett is still the top consideration, with Rushing and Bade as outside contenders.

Lagoa being out is unconfirmed, but Newsmax may know something we don't. Probably should've worded my previous comment better.

As for Barrett being the frontrunner, this would appear to confirm it.

With everything coming out about her, she had better not be.
