The Democrats are about to grievously insult women of faith. They won't be able to help themselves. Their obvious superiority won't let them consider the full ramifications and the obvious downsides.
There's only one or two other possible plays for the Democrats -- that the candidate is a useful idiot for the patriarchy or some similar nonsense related to identity politics (which could immediately be applied to Harris)
