One time when I was on a cabin trip with my family, I woke up during the night and saw what looked like a headless figure in a white dress standing across the room in front of the stove, it looked just like that image on the middle card. I thought I imagined it until the next day when my grandmother, wholly independent of my mentioning it, described seeing the same thing.

Interesting. Infrasound (which can be caused by heavy machinery close or far) can cause illusions through vibrations in the eyes. Its really fascinating, vibrations from distant machines can travel through gas pipes and other underground infrastructure and vibrate entire houses.. you may not notice but it creates an uneasy feeling in people among other things, a biological response to deep sounds. This is the real reason wind turbines suck, they can fuck peoples lives up.

I've been asking my mother and grandmother as well in the last 30 minutes for more information about the place we were at.

There was a maintenance building near where our cabin was, though my mother questioned if it would be making infrasound at 3 or 4 AM.

I don't think the cabin was gas-powered, just electric-powered. Though it's possibly there may have been gas at one time - they've been gradually modernizing it up as decades go by. (They've added TV's and cell towers in recent years. The place used to be more remote from the media.)

Does infrasound create optical illusions frequently or is it an uncommon occurrence? We stayed at that cabin a few times over the years, though only had the one experience with the "sighting".

Still, I'll keep researching into this. It's certainly more comforting to think it was an optical illusion (rather than some wiccan lunatic sending a spirit at us!) Although admittedly I'll miss the supernatural intrigue in sharing this story with people.

It's really a bit of a rabbit hole honestly, but it was one of the more interesting rabbit holes I ever went down. in a way it was one of my first red pills. Years ago I used to think anti wind turbine people were crazy (they are often painted that way by the media) but the more and more I read about it I realize that its a quite well known topic, the US military for example has researched weaponizing infrasound extensively (they dont really use it because it doesnt always have the same effect on everyone, military doesnt like that) but it is quite effective when it works.

As to your case, its possible a maintenance building could be making infrasound at anytime, many times in these types of buildings there are machines constantly whirring, depends on what they are for of course, it could vary. its possible it could be something many miles away as well. it can be caused by movements of the earth and many other sources too.

Does it create illusions frequently? I cannot say, I believe it varies a lot from person to person and from the frequency/pitch of the particular infrasound. For some people they may not notice, some can be intensely bothered by it. age plays a role too.

its not sound that you hear, but rather sound that you feel, and it effects you on a cellular level, it can thicken your heart tissue, cause eye vibrations/illusions, it also can generally make you feel uneasy. before tigers roar they create spine chilling low growls, infrasound, so low and deep you feel it before you hear it. this may be part of the reeason humans grew to feel uneasy around it, many deadly predators make these sounds, crocodiles etc.

and in modern day you have all types of things making infrasound all over the place, I tend to think thats a contributing factor as to why people in cities are so strung up/stressed/worried/anxious. its not good to live in excessively industrial areas I

Heres 3 videos: 1st one is super long and technical but this portugese lady really explains the whole thing, if you really want to understand it all. ..the other two are a bit more digestable

That is interesting, I'll do more research into that.
