Yes, I don’t understand how those kind of “mixed marriages” work. If my husband had TDS and refused to listen to reality I couldn’t respect him.
I once knew a based gal, who was married to a lefty who made fun of Trump. She was a quiet person, but more than a few times made disparaging comments about her husband, and you could sense resentment.
But he was joe six pack - and probably an ok guy besides being a dumb cuck politically. She was also super Christian, and they are both well off, so gonna stick with him forever.

It lights me with optimism to hear these stories about hard leftists waking up.

My twin brother drank the kool-aid so fast. he voted trump with me in 2016 and has disowned me and said me and Russia duped him. he brings up Russia in every conversation. when i bring up facts he says i lied.
I know its tough to deal with family, but trust me, when you have an identical twin who you have pretty much grew up with and hangout with because they are basically a clone of you, its rough.
Now my science brain is intrigued. What do you think made him go full commie MSDNC addict? You two share all your DNA, assuming raised identically in the same household, and a great level of family trust. What broke his brain and not yours pede?? Science demands an answer!
It sounds like classic propaganda conditioning. Don't forget Ghislaine Maxwell is believed by many to have been a super moderator of Reddit to include the r/Politics & r/WorldNews subs. Evidence continues to point to this as a fact. Reddit is a propaganda device used to enslave minds and control popular opinion.
People who lack strong critical thinking skills will outsource that job to places like main stream media, reddit, twitter, ect. Just like people who lack mechanical skills outsource that task to the auto mechanic. People also place too much trust in "experts". I have had medical doctors get my health wrong many times, no expert is 100% right but many people are lazy and default to this idea. Now you combine the above with something like the existential threat of climate change and the results will be dramatic. Look at the panic MSM released over Covid, experts say you are going to die so you must believe them. The propaganda masters know how to manipulate the basic human drive for survival to elicit their desired outcomes. The biological drive for sex and survival are two of the strongest drives humans possess.
There are other psychological factors at play that allow the left to control their hordes. For instance they accuse the right of doing what they themselves are guilty of, projection. They follow many rules of cult control. You have to be 100% for the cause, you must deny all questioning of your faith and ideas, everyone who tries to separate you from your ideas must be ignored and avoided. This makes the cult member lose outside social structure forcing them to rely on the cult more and more. Eventually the subject can only turn to the cult as all others have been alienated. Look into stories of religious and non religious cult members and see if any of it sounds familiar.
What can you do to help???
You have to activate the critical thinking engine in your twin. You will never be able to just explain it away and convince them. You should ask questions instead of making statements. The less confrontational the better. You need to plant seeds against the liberal programming and let them grow. This way your twin forms most of the opinions himself.
For instance, ask how Trump is a racist if he supports so many non white politicians.
Ask why no evidence was published that Trump was an asset of Russia despite years of investigations. Obviously they would have released information if it existed and obviously they looked everywhere. But nothing, why?
Ask him how Trump is a dictator when he refuses to violate the constitution after almost 4 years. Ask him to list instances of Trump violating the constitution. Bonus points for pointing out the Dem mayors and governors who have already lost court battles over unconstitutional lock down orders, unconstitutional gun laws, ect. Those are the dictators plain and simple.
You won't be able to fix it in a day or a month. You have to plant those seeds as gently as possible and wait for the critical thinking engine to start back up.

My wife has been a liberal all of her life. She cried on election night 2016. I believe it was exactly the moment that Don Lemon rudely spoke over Sheriff David Clarke, she started to rethink everything.
Since then, she's been progressive.... In registering as a Republican and even donating to the Trump campaign. She is taking the whole thing in, she's openly stated that she'll NEVER, EVER vote for another Democrat. They make her sick.

In fairness to her, I would have considered trump a liberal 12 years ago. I don't even think I could have come up with a word to describe AOC.
AOC has big tits, only reason people like her. Yeah I said it.
My now-fiance isn't necessarily warm to Trump, but AOC was on a video and her response was "I really can't stand her. Why do people think she's so great?"
She really liked Trump's reaction to learning about RBG's passing, too.
