People need to wake up and starting voting for better people in their own states though, the SC can't do everything. CA for example has backwards crap like the Gun Roster and Safe Gun List. Those are both backdoor bans, full stop. If you aren't familiar with those tactics, it's basically why CA is stuck with Gen 3 Glocks (still a great gun btw, my gen 3 G17 agrees). All they have to do is make it harder and harder each and every year for a gun to qualify as "safe" until no gun makes the list and bam, no more guns allowed to be sold. They also tried to make every gun have that firing pin with a serial number so shells can be identified, an impossible technology. Not sure whatever happened to that one as I moved from CA to America and stopped caring.
To be clear, the technology of engraving or stamping in such a way that it would stamp on softer metal is not really necessarily impossible. What's impossible is preventing it from wearing down quickly to the point of being illegible and it would likely be a moot point fairly quickly.

That and the 2 seconds it would take to file off the signature. And of course a criminal would NEVER do that because it would be against the law. LOL.
