Lin Wood is a nationally famous big shot attorney with some very high profile wins (Richard Jewell, Sandmann) he's at least got the potential to help Free Kyle. I wouldn't write the guy off.

Apparently Lin Wood is being sued by former employees for breach of contract and they have sworn under penalty of perjury that what they say is true and they have the recordings and emails to prove it.
John Pearce is also in a similar boat in that he owes a lot of money to people as well.
These facts combined with the fact that the charity monies raised for Kyle’s defense have not been turned over to the family have caused the best self defense attorneys in Wisconsin to stay clear of this case.

I know that lawyers generally advocate for shutting up and saying everything there is to say in court, but in this case, the kid needs PR as well as a lawyer due to the MSM's misinformation, and I believe that Lin Wood is not actually the person who is going to appear in front of the judge (though he did arrange for representation for Kyle), so I think it's less of a danger than it could otherwise be.
