There are lots of fathers out there who want to "do the right thing" but are family courts have been taken over by the marxists. Living in NJ, I had a TV knowledge of our family court. It wasnt until I went through my own divorce that I got first hand knowledge of how screwed up our family courts are and how punishing they are to fathers. This goes even for fathers who want a relationship with their children and financially support them. The system is way biased against fathers and there is no easy way to correct the system as the lawyers have the politicians in their back pocket.
