I think that the F35 was a giant psyop to lure the Chinese in, and that its a giant pile of shit on purpose, and the Chinese just wasted billions and countless man hours, along with honey pot fake designs, to build a giant flying piece of shit (with radar), meanwhile...the US developed advanced simulators that took testing/manufacture time down 99%, and now we literally have spaceship jets that can enter orbit, travel at unheard of speeds, shoot lasers, deploy drones and make maneuvers that defy the laws of physics. But I'm just some guy who works at McDonalds, so take it with a grain of SALT.

the F35 was supposed to be the everything jet and shared with allies - they ended up making variations of it anyway - its not supposed to be the best thing ever - just a upgraded and functional platform to they can retire everything else (A10 forever tho)
The F22 which wasn't shared with allies - was designed to kick everythings ass, even the F35
I don't think Chinas"4-5th" gen knock off hasn't been battle tested.. it might really suck for all I know it just looks like a F35.. I think one of their Russian jets got shot down by Taiwan last week and that I hear was really embarassing because of the tech involved
Companies like Lockheed and Boeing work with the government to create extremely elaborate honey pots, so the Chinese think they are getting super secret cool designs, and then they build the thing, and it blows up and kills 100 people.
I remember reading something like this that happened in the 80s with some faulty gas pipeline software the Reagan administration fed to KGB spies. Created a massive explosion.
