They pledged their "Sacred Honor". Consider that very few leaders today have any honor at all, much less sacred honor.

Our founders and those who fought for our freedom risked everything that they had, including their lives. We owe them and everyone who has fought for our freedom since that time a tremendous debt of gratitude.
