I was summoned to Federal Jury Duty years ago. I had to go through the entire ceremony of determining a jury. I didn't want to be on it, though. And I knew the perp (a black drug dealer busted for selling and distributing roofies in night clubs) was guilty as hell and that there was no way he'd be found not guilty.
I asked the judge to approach the bench. I told the judge that I am a very racist man and that I hate drug dealers and that a black drug dealer would be an automatic guilty verdict no matter what. I even told the judge that if I had it my way the defendant would face the death penalty for what he has done. The judge thanked me for being candid and told me I was entitled to believe as I saw fit.
I was immediately dismissed from consideration and I was back at work by 11:30 am. I also picked up a nice check for my time.
A few months later I read that the defendant was found guilty and was sent up the river for a few decades.
EDIT: I was honest when I said I hate drug dealers. I don't really hate or even dislike blacks but to be honest, I don't really care for them, either. I don't "get" them or their culture but I could not afford to be away from work for two weeks or longer on a jury so I said what I had to to get dismissed.
Hey, no problem. The way I see it is, I hate most people. So I'm sure as hell not going to give any favorability to a person just because they're black.
The exception to this rule is anyone on TDW. This place and this community is the best.
I'll tell ya' a little story:
