Anyone have any idea why those walls are angled the way they are? It seems like the most expensive way to cover a particular linear distance that way.

Reduces noise, causes a harmonic balanced disruption (sound bouncing at angles to each of the walls and back) which muffles the noise. Similar to a noise suppressor on a rifle which makes it difficult to determine by audio where the shot came from. WWG1WGA
