This is how I feel. As a conservative / small-L libertarian, we HAVE to defeat this communist insurgency FIRST. We can debate our differences, liberal, conservative, etc. after we clean up this freaking Marxist mess. The tools to clean it up have been handed to us (I personally believe by God) on a silver platter: Trump.
Here's a secret about the modern right wing. Our ultimate desire is to be left alone as much as possible, and we extend that courtesy to people willing to grant it.
Most of us have been pushed into politics in one form or another because of an intrusion from the left into our lives. The real questions are: how big should government be, how high should taxes be, should we continue importing much more than we export, and so on. And, of course, should we adhere to the Constitution (yes, damn it!).
Classical liberalism isn't at all tied to those issues. Those would be much better issues to be dealing with than should we burn everything down though.

Conservatives aren't neccesarily Christians anymore.
There is not a secular argument for the government not to recognize gay marriage.
I'd argue that the government should get out of the marriage game all together, but that is a different discussion.
I am sorry for what must have happened to you when you were a child. I'm sure it was horrible, because the emotional scars are so visible in your words and even in your screen name. Instead of painting others with such large paint strokes of what a conservative can and cannot be, maybe that time would be better spent in therapy dealing with your childhood trauma. 20 years ago, Trumps platform would have been almost identical to the espoused liberal platform. The democrats and republicans used to run on who could do a better job securing the border and keeping us out of war.
I was a Democrat for 6 years once I realized that Bush jr want going to end the wars. I think most of us here are basically liberal when it comes to “live and let live.”

I’m not a liberal. Not by any stretch of the imagination. I’m not unkind or unloving to humans whose values I don’t agree with, but in my heart, I don’t support most of the things that come with being liberal or progressive today.
I am also liberal about somethings.

The fact is, the USSR prided itself in their achievements. Olympic gymnasts, world class musicians, composers. Not that any of this was done out of freedom, but for the glory of the party. Very strict training regimen, harshly kicked out for the slightest variation from the routine. Not many flourished like this, but a few came up through the ranks and were WOW.
