Direct violation of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Somebody needs to sue for millions.

The courts have stacked it so no one will have standing under this fact pattern.

"I was hired because I was black" - how humilating is that?!

2
spezisapedo 2 points ago +2 / -0

many take great pride it in...and even call for more race based hiring. Look at all the corporations just giving money to black people and organizations. ... Its as though they cant earn money on their own.

68
Picador_20 68 points ago +68 / -0

What percentage of black people occupying positions in media and academia are token hires? A fairly large percentage, it would seem.

55
ClaytonMagnet 55 points ago +55 / -0

This sort of crap has now conditioned me to assume that every dark-skinned person in the media is a diversity hire. I never used to.

I hate that I now feel that way, but it's these progressives' fault.

19
DarkMemeDuck 19 points ago +19 / -0

Feeling that way more and more each day about a whole lot of things, and I'm not liking it either.

18
V43_of_ii_dim 18 points ago +18 / -0

It’s uncomfortable, for sure. Statistics is raycis and all that, but in 2017, only 18% of Black 12th Graders exhibited reading proficiency at their grade/age level. What are the odds that there are enough qualified black writers to meet arbitrary diversity requirements when so few are functionally literate and even fewer are interested in writing careers? How many turn in garbage and leave it to their editors to “fix” their articles?

In group preference is natural and normal. Trotsky, aka Lev Bronstein, created the word racist to pathologize normal behavior

Not just media, all fields.

For instance, when I was looking for a new doctor, I declined anyone who wasn't a White or Asian man. I don't want to be racist about it, I'm sure there are some genuinely good Indian or African doctors out there, but there are too many diversity hires for me to confidently walk into any random brown-skinned doctor's office and trust that he or she wasn't given the position to fill a quota.

You can only trust people who don't have a positive discrimination program that pushes incompetent people into positions of undeserved success. The only way a White or Asian man gets to become a doctor is through hard work and beating the competition in medical school.

EASY WAY TO FIX THIS - END AFFIRMATIVE ACTION.

Hire based on merit. Skin color is NOT a qualification.

In retrospect every interaction I have had with black doctor has been subpar. Due to the treatment or lack thereof they gave me several times, I am instantly skeptical of a black doctors qualifications. And that is really shitty for the black doctors who made it on their own merit.

I bet most of those conversations have been routine “new hire” banter.

“Hey, welcome to the team! Where were you before this?”

“Oh yeah, nice. I used to work with mike who’s over there now, you know him? Great guy.”

“No that makes sense. They’ve got a big operation over there. How long you been in journalism for?”

waswas 36 points ago +36 / -0

thing is, the other candidates had those other reasons too but they werent black.

i have lost jobs and college admissions and government contracts becuase I wasnt black or a woman and more recently because I wasnt homosexual. Its very real. it cost me real money.

the job I was fired from when they found out I wasnt gay ( I had actually already been hired and working for a day during which they realized I wasnt gay) would have paid about $20,000 - $30,000 in that month depending on overtime.

its real money. real opportunities lost. huge impacts on life savings and opportunities...especially in your young years when building wealth makes such a difference.

it delays your first house and your first child. it impacts everything you do and its exceedingly common now and taken as a given.

that shit needs to stop.

this is also why i frankly secretly applaud Pocahauntis for being a little white girl seeing she would be passed over for college and harvard etc and so she lied and fooled them all. honestly if i had thought of pretending to be american indian i would have. sometimes it takes injustice to fight injustice and you gotta do what you gotta do until the wrongs are righted.

in fact i would claim anything you can get away with to defeat the injustice of reverse discrimination today. make them prove you wrong by arguing slivers of race or trying to get you to take a genetic test. lets see out that plays out in the media. that will stop all this stuff real quick. they dont want that debate.

go ahead and tell them your two grand fathers were half indian or black for that combined 25%. make them prove you wrong and sue them for the affront of the challenge while they do it. afterall didnt you always hear that your two grandfathers were half whatever? how are you to really know?

11
Pepe_Vult 11 points ago +11 / -0

Why dont you see who is behind the destruction of your race and name them ..

6
HuggableBear 6 points ago +6 / -0

If it worked for Fauxcahontas, it can work for you!

2
ColbyP 2 points ago +2 / -0

You should definitely sue whoever fired you for not being gay. Civil rights specifically cover that you can't be discriminated against for your sexuality.

1
waswas 1 point ago +1 / -0

yeah. i had orhers things going on at the time that made it impossible to stay in town to do it. it was absolutely blatant though.

in Los Angeles in many industries in media and PR and advertising you actually usually dont even hear of a job in many industries unless you have access to a gay email network and you wont get it unless they think you are gay.

28
Unicron3 28 points ago +28 / -0

Apparently they capitalize the B now to send the message that blacks are better than whites. These games are stupid and disgusting and only fools and bigots are eager to play them.

If your qualifications aren't evident and you constantly have to repeat them it's most likely because you're not qualified.

3
CousinEddie 3 points ago +3 / -0

In my 20 years of professional work, it's been a very small anamoly where someone's qualifications came into question. Those few instances were bc it was so egregious and an obvious mis-hire, the person was usually let go for performance problems within a year.

It's hilarious that someone would actually tell other people this happened to them. It demonstrates they are clearly out of touch and dont understand.

It's right up there with asking; "why do people question if I've shit my pants every day? Why would they think that?"

2
Slyder8 2 points ago +2 / -0

"No, because you used to be a man... right?" he said.

2
DrAugustBalls 2 points ago +2 / -0

We've literally codified racial discrimination into law, which has resulted in many blacks being hired primarily for their race.

Our society took the old "teach a man to fish" principle and threw it right out the window. It's no wonder so many black people feel resentment and have an inferiority complex. It happens to most people who are given handouts/unfair advantages, but in this case, it's happened to an entire swath of our society.

1
synd1050 1 point ago +1 / -0

1

I hate affirmative action, I want to know that I got hired because I was the right guy for the job.

1
Plops993 1 point ago +1 / -0

MORE IMPORTANTLY, it means someone else was NOT hired because they were white, which is 100% the definition of discrimination

1
Au_contrarian 1 point ago +1 / -0

Imagine if there was a rule that all French Canadians had to be hired above and beyond their qualifications to meet quotas. What kind of opinions would form in the minds of people who observe the work of French Canadians on a daily basis? It would be a rule that made French Canadians look like buffoons.

1
Homemade-Soap 1 point ago +1 / -0

When did people start capitalizing the B in black?

1
spezisapedo 1 point ago +1 / -0

when the racists at the AP decided to push more racial division.

Notice they capitalize the "B" in black every time. This is a thing black supremacists do.
