I was on facebook for the same reason. I deleted a year ago and I have been noticeably happier as a result. Try deactivating it at least for a few weeks and see how it feels. You can keep messenger to stay in touch if you have to.

Wait wait wait. You can deactivate Facebook and still use Messenger? The only reason I still have a Facebook account is because I've got friends who literally only chat on Messenger.

Yes, I deactivated it and kept messenger on my phone. Way happier.
